2025’s AdeptiCon is buzzing with excitement, particularly for Star Wars: Legion fans! The anticipation was already high ahead of Atomic Mass Games’ presentation, but they truly outdid themselves. Besides providing additional information about the new edition’s starter sets and pricing, they unveiled an exciting new feature that lets players customize their own Jedi characters within the game. Let’s explore the steps to make this a reality!
Star Wars: Legion is a miniatures game centered around massive battles, allowing players to construct their armies using a variety of well-known figures such as characters, vehicles, droids, soldiers, and enormous units like AT-AT walkers, among others. Since its debut, numerous significant characters have been incorporated into the game, including Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker, The Mandalorian (and Grogu), to mention a few. Although some characters provide unique building choices, players haven’t had the opportunity to extensively personalize a character until now.
With these new Customizable Commander and Operative packs for Star Wars: Legion, you can now create your own unique characters! Each kit contains multiple components, with over 20 parts available for customization (and a future character hinted at including around 40 parts). You’ll find various weapons, alternative head designs, and armor options among these components. With two complete characters to build from each pack, the possibilities are endless!
Not only can you personalize your miniature figure, but you also have the freedom to tailor their in-game skills and gameplay mechanics using a novel form of enhancement called doctrines. You’ll be able to select a specific number of these doctrines, which will grant you access to exclusive abilities and tech trees, enabling you to create the type of character you prefer, even a Jedi.
As a dedicated fan, I’m thrilled to share that you have the liberty to personalize your miniature to your heart’s content! You can even tailor its abilities and loadout to realize your dream Jedi, one capable of wreaking havoc on the battlefield. If you choose the Jedi path, you get to select your lightsaber masteries, the preferred style of your lightsaber, and the type of force user you aspire to be. With a snazzy name in tow, you’re all set for an exciting adventure! The upcoming Customizable Commanders and Operatives sets will drop alongside the new Starter Kits this year.
Regarding the Starters, let’s delve deeper into them as well. The four newly introduced Starters were initially unveiled at GAMA, but we now have additional information and complete pricing for each one. Pre-orders are currently open for all four Starter Sets, which consist of the Rebel Alliance Starter Set, Galactic Empire Starter Set, Separatist Alliance Starter Set, and Galactic Republic Starter Set.
In September, both The Rebel Alliance Starter Pack and The Galactic Empire Starter Pack are scheduled for release. Meanwhile, the Separatist Alliance Starter Set and Galactic Republic Starter Set will be available in October. All four sets retail at $95.00 each. Each set comes equipped with over 30 miniatures, as well as all necessary cards, dice, and tools to get you started on your gaming adventure.
If your armies are already constructed but you require the latest rules and cards, you can acquire them using New Unit Card Packs, Command Card Packs, the Battle Deck Card, and essential resources such as the Upgrades Card Pack, Battle Deck Card Pack, and Essentials Kit.
During the presentation, additional exciting updates and disclosures were shared, such as further insights into the upcoming Ahsoka Tano and Commander Ahsoka set, scheduled for release later in the year. This will mark the first introduction of this beloved character into the game.
Additionally, there was a noteworthy unveiling of General Grievous riding his Wheel Bike, marking the beginning of more character-mounted commanders as suggested in the presentation. This exciting reveal is set for 2026, and it will also include TSMEU-6 Personal Wheel Bikes, depictions of Han Solo and Luke Skywalker on Tauntauns, Imperial Probe Droids, and the Imperial High Command pack.
The last two unveilings were equally impressive, starting with the debut of The Weequay Pirates. Headed by Hando Ohnaka, this group is set to be part of an exclusive release from Hobby Next. For a complete view of the entire faction, check it out below. The second showcase was the WLO-5 Speed Tank, boasting a sleek design and multiple ways to customize its gunner to suit your preference.
