Star Wars Just Surprise Released a New Anakin and Obi-Wan Story

As a devoted Star Wars fan who has spent countless hours immersed in the galaxy far, far away, I can confidently say that the latest Audible release, “Star Wars: Padawan’s Pride,” is a must-listen for any enthusiast of the prequel era. The story, nestled perfectly between “The Phantom Menace” and Obi-Wan Kenobi’s first appearance in “A New Hope,” offers an exciting blend of action, intrigue, and the complex dynamics between Anakin Skywalker and his master, Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Lucasfilm and Smallville writer Bryan Q. Miller have recently unveiled an unexpected new Star Wars tale on Audible, titled Star Wars: Padawan’s Pride. This story focuses on Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi in the period following Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, and is narrated by Kevin Kemp. With a runtime of approximately four hours, this tale was released without prior announcement or marketing. Distinct from other prequel-era stories, the events within Padawan’s Pride are designed to captivate fans of The Phantom Menace, as it revolves around a young Anakin navigating through a criminal conspiracy within the podracing circuit.

As per the official summary, the storyline primarily revolves around an attempt to join the podracing league (A plot). Additionally, there’s a secondary narrative focusing on the strained relationship between Anakin and Obi-Wan (B plot), which eventually improves when Obi-Wan departs, leaving Anakin feeling lonely and desiring support.

Following a recent interview, it was shared by Ewan McGregor that he expresses his hope for another chance to be part of the Star Wars universe post the Obi-Wan Kenobi miniseries.

McGregor expressed his hope for another opportunity, stating, “I believe there are still several tales left to be told, between the way our series concluded and the moment Alec Guinness appears alongside Luke Skywalker on screen.

Hayden Christensen, who acted alongside McGregor in Star Wars, shares similar enthusiasm about Ewan McGregor reprising his role as Obi-Wan Kenobi. This excitement stems not only from the prospect of working together again but also from the fan’s point of view, looking forward to seeing McGregor embody the character once more.

If it results in more time working with Ewan, it’s an obvious choice for me, but I sincerely hope he continues in the role. As a fan, it’s thrilling to see him portray Obi-Wan – he’s simply fantastic!

You can get the story here. Here’s how Audible describes it:
