Star Wars: Katee Sackhoff on Appearing in The Mandalorian Movie, "If I Did Tell You, They'd Probably Kill Me"

As a hardcore Star Wars enthusiast with over two decades of fandom under my belt, I can hardly contain my excitement for “The Mandalorian & Grogu.” Having grown up watching the original trilogy on VHS tapes, I never imagined that we’d one day get to see such an incredible series unfold, let alone a live-action movie featuring Din Djarin and the adorable Grogu.

Following three successful seasons on Disney+, “Star Wars: The Mandalorian” is transitioning to the big screen in 2026, marking its debut as a live-action Star Wars film in theaters since “The Rise of Skywalker” in 2019. The upcoming movie titled “The Mandalorian & Grogu” will feature characters that fans have grown fond of from the franchise. Leading the feature film will be Pedro Pascal’s Din Djarin and the adorable Force-user, Grogu. However, it remains uncertain which other characters from the “Mandalorian” series will make an appearance in the movie.

Over the past few years, Bo Katan, portrayed by Katee Sackhoff, has become a prominent figure in the world of The Mandalorian. Given her significance, it seems likely that she would be included in The Mandalorian and Grogu series. However, as of now, Sackhoff hasn’t been officially confirmed as part of the cast. Known for her discretion with big franchise details, Sackhoff is skilled at keeping information under wraps until it’s formally revealed by Lucasfilm or Disney.

During a chat with Sackhoff regarding her part in DC’s forthcoming Watchmen animated movie, ComicBook inquired if the actress might make an appearance in The Mandalorian & Grogu.

1. Firstly, she said, “I wouldn’t disclose it if I knew.” Secondly, “If I did reveal it, they might endanger my life.”

Until the next Star Wars movie premieres in a few years, there will remain many mysteries about it. However, this doesn’t diminish the high levels of anticipation for the film, as both audiences and those involved in its creation are eagerly waiting.

The Mandalorian and Grogu is being helmed by Jon Favreau, who’s been guiding the current chapter in Star Wars storytelling along with Dave Filoni. When it was first revealed at Star Wars Celebration, Favreau shared his enthusiasm for bringing The Mandalorian‘s tales to the big screen.

As a dedicated admirer, I’ve always cherished spinning tales within the captivating universe crafted by George Lucas. Sharing this excitement, the opportunity to bring the Mandalorian and his adorable ward Grogu onto the silver screen is nothing short of thrilling!

Kathleen Kennedy, head of Lucasfilm, stated that Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni have introduced two fresh, adored characters to the Star Wars universe, and their new tale is ideally suited for the cinema experience.

As an eager fan, all I can confirm for now is that I’ll be joining the adventure in “The Mandalorian & Grogu” with Pedro Pascal starring as Din Djarin. The anticipated release date is set for a grand theater debut on May 22, 2026. Can’t wait to be part of this exciting journey!
