Star Wars Outlaws Developer Says They Are Fixing the Beginning of the Game

As a seasoned gamer who has seen the evolution of Star Wars games and experienced both triumphs and frustrations, I find myself eagerly awaiting the promised updates for Outlaws by Massive Entertainment. The initial release of this open-world action adventure game left me with a mixed bag of emotions, much like Han Solo’s feelings towards the Empire.

The team behind the “Star Wars Outlaws,” Massive Entertainment, has announced they’re about to release updates aimed at enhancing and possibly resolving issues with the initial stages of the game. Released on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S on August 30, the open-world action-adventure title has allowed “Star Wars” enthusiasts plenty of time to dive in and share their opinions. The reaction from players, much like the reviews, has been a blend of positive and negative feedback regarding the Ubisoft production.

The primary issue players have with the game lies in its initial stages. They’ve expressed concerns over sudden increases in difficulty, particularly during stealth sections that can result in instant failure. Fortunately, Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment acknowledge this concern and are working on a solution. However, it seems they won’t eliminate fail states entirely as part of the fix.

As a gamer, I’d rephrase Julian Gerighty’s statement like this: “You might be remembering one of the tough early missions in Mirogana. For me, that was a misstep, something we plan to rectify. I don’t mean getting rid of the challenge entirely, but there are plenty of areas where we can make it less frustrating and more clear.

Gerighty stated: “We aim to avoid any sense of unfairness. Currently, it seems unbalanced, which isn’t what we intended. This issue has arisen recently within the last week, and we’re addressing it for a potential fix that might be released in about ten days.

It’s uncertain how thoroughly this update will impact stealth missions in the game, as it could range from broad changes across the entire game to more targeted adjustments within the specific aspect Gerighty mentioned. Nonetheless, Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment are conscious of the issues with the game’s stealth mechanics and are actively working on resolving them. The question now is whether these modifications will prove successful when implemented.
