Star Wars Outlaws Director Will Soon Shift Focus to The Division 3

As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I’ve seen the rise and fall of countless gaming franchises. Ubisoft’s Massive Entertainment has always been a studio that intrigues me, with their ability to churn out quality games like The Division series and Star Wars Outlaws.

As a gaming enthusiast, I’ve been thrilled about the recent releases of “Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora” last December and “Star Wars Outlaws” just last month. But it seems like Ubisoft studio Massive Entertainment isn’t taking a break anytime soon! A little over a year ago, Ubisoft and Massive announced they were working on “The Division 3”, with Julian Gerighty, who co-directed the previous installments, set to take up the role of executive producer. He’ll be stepping into this position after he completes his duties as creative director for “Star Wars Outlaws”. I can hardly wait!

After approximately a month since the release of “Outlaws”, Gerighty is getting ready to move onto his next venture. While speaking with Game File, he shared that for another month or so, he’ll still be managing the recently launched sci-fi game. Following this, his attention will shift towards “The Division 3”. In the meantime, a team of highly experienced individuals from Massive Entertainment will carry on developing “Star Wars Outlaws”.

Ubisoft has shared that the initial sales of Star Wars Outlaws did not meet expectations upon its release, with forecasts suggesting less than a million copies sold by the end of August. However, the game will be available on Steam as of November 21 and will debut its first expansion, Wild Run. The upcoming expansion A Pirate’s Fortune is set for launch in spring 2025. Meanwhile, a new free update is expected on October 3.
