Star Wars Outlaws’ Explorer Mode Will Let You Toggle off Guiding Environmental Yellow Paint

As a seasoned gamer with decades of navigating virtual worlds under my belt, I can’t help but appreciate the thoughtful approach Ubisoft is taking with their upcoming title, Star Wars Outlaws. Having grown tired of the neon highlighter effect that often ruins the immersion in open-world games, I find myself drawn to the Explorer Mode‘s promise of a more organic exploration experience.

Games often employ yellow as a color for interactive objects and environmental elements to help guide players navigating the game. While there are debates about its necessity, it seems that the upcoming game, Star Wars Outlaws, plans to offer some form of assistance for those seeking it.

According to PC Gamer, Ubisoft has announced that the new open-world game will feature an Explorer Mode, allowing players like me to turn off guide colors on essential navigational elements within the environment. For some time now, Explorer Modes have been included in Ubisoft’s open-world titles, giving us the opportunity to reduce the guidance from games and instead embark on a more immersive exploration experience. However, previous versions of the Explorer Mode didn’t include an option to turn off guiding yellow paint – but this one does!

As a gaming enthusiast, I was fortunate enough to get an extended peek at roughly three hours of Star Wars Outlaws gameplay the other day! Here’s my take on the experience – feel free to read more about it right here.

Star Wars Outlaws launches on August 30 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
