Star Wars Outlaws Has “the Biggest Marketing Campaign Ever for a Ubisoft Game”

As a die-hard Star Wars fan and longtime Ubisoft enthusiast, I can hardly contain my excitement for the upcoming release of Star Wars Outlaws. The prospect of exploring an expansive open world set in a galaxy far, far away, filled with intriguing characters and thrilling action, is a dream come true.

The anticipation for Star Wars Outlaws is immense, and given its status as a major AAA game linked to the expansive Star Wars franchise, this isn’t unexpected. Yet, it appears that Ubisoft’s upcoming open world action-adventure title could be a significant launch even in comparison to their usual high-profile releases.

At a recent earnings call (as reported by MP1st), when asked about the predicted sales of “Star Wars Outlaws” (estimated at 5 million units in the current quarter according to Nick Dempsey from Barclays), Ubisoft’s CEO, Yves Guillemot, stated that due to “Ubisoft’s biggest marketing effort for any game,” they are anticipating a robust debut for the title.

Guillemot explained that they are taking into consideration several factors for Star Wars Outlaw’s successful launch. Firstly, it’s the high anticipation and positive buzz in the gaming industry this year. Secondly, we have an exceptional community response. Lastly, we plan to unveil our largest marketing campaign yet for a Ubisoft game.

Ubisoft has other significant releases planned besides “Assassin’s Creed Shadows” (due later this year), but how much marketing effort they’ll put into those compared to “Star Wars Outlaws” is uncertain for now. Currently, their primary focus seems to be on the upcoming space adventure.

Star Wars Outlaws is set to be released approximately a month from now, specifically on August 30. This includes versions for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and personal computers. Earlier in this month, the game reached its final production stage and was certified gold.
