As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I’ve seen my fair share of console updates and patches. However, Ubisoft’s latest move with Star Wars Outlaws on the PS5 Pro has left me quite intrigued. The addition of the PSSR toggle feels like a nod to the community’s feedback, acknowledging that not all visual enhancements are created equal for every gamer.
Ubisoft has added another toggle for Post-Processing Shader Resolution (PSSR) to the PlayStation 5 Pro version of Star Wars Outlaws with update 1.5.0. This new feature allows PS5 Pro users to select between PSSR and FSR in the settings menu. The update also introduces three graphics modes from the standard PS5 version, along with a mode for rendering at 60 frames per second on PS5 Pro.
In this case, Ubisoft has released an update for two of their games (Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora and Star Wars Outlaws) to allow PlayStation 5 Pro users to disable its advanced features due to potential visual issues such as shimmering caused by PSSR (PlayStation 5’s Super Sampling Mode). Ubisoft is currently investigating a fix for the Avatar patch, so a solution may be released soon.
The latest Star Wars Outlaws update for PS5 isn’t just about adding new options for PS5 Pro users, it also introduces several balance adjustments and fixes that benefit all players. This update comes in at approximately 6.76GB. For a detailed look at the changes, you can check out the patch notes through the provided link.
