As a lifelong Star Wars enthusiast with a galaxy of experiences under my belt, I’m thrilled about the latest addition to the Outlaws: Wild Card DLC. Having grown up dreaming of exploring Nar Shaddaa and the Lars Homestead on Tatooine, it’s heartening to see the game’s narrative team acknowledging such fan-favorite locations, even if we don’t get to visit them just yet.

Today marks the release of the new Star Wars Outlaws: Wild Card DLC expansion! Here’s a juicy, spoiler-packed summary to catch you up on the storyline thus far!

Navid Khavari, the narrative director on Star Wars Outlaws, recently sat down with us for an in-depth video chat where we delved into the game’s major plot points – each surprise, every act of deceit, the mid-credit scene, and a special appearance from a notorious Sith Lord.

In our conversation, we dive into the layout of the game and the various celestial bodies it transports you to. “Nar Shaddaa,” Khavari acknowledges, alluding to the lawless world which, although featured, remains unexplored within the game.

Discussing virtual tourism often leads to talking about places like Lars Homestead on Tatooine as an example. Could there still be undiscovered Easter eggs scattered throughout the galaxy? On this point, Khavari hinted, “I believe there are a few things yet to uncover.

In response to my comment about searching for Ben Kenobi’s hut on Reddit threads within the game, Khavari expressed admiration by saying, “The Reddit community is truly remarkable. We take notice of all such discussions, and we genuinely appreciate the enthusiasm, the feedback, the creative ideas – it’s simply fantastic!

Afterward, we started conversing about some pivotal instances in the game, such as when Nix and Kay were painfully separated.

Khavari expressed that immediately after establishing the central pair, he felt it necessary to separate Nix from Kay in a deeply emotional manner, and he anticipated that this would be a difficult ordeal.

Additionally, we discuss the mission during which ND-5 betrays Kay, not by choice but under compulsion. Furthermore, there’s an unexpected revelation where Rico becomes part of the team. Lastly, another surprising twist unfolds as Jaylen and Sliro are discovered to be brothers.

And how did the memorable showdown between Sliro and Darth Vader come about?

Speaking about the Wild Card DLC launching today, Khavari mentioned, “This expansion is designed to bring your Star Wars casino dreams to reality! In it, the character Kay embarks on an adventure, finding herself immersed in a colossal Sabacc tournament aboard a lavish cruise ship.

Not only does Lando Calrissian find himself participating in the same event, but they each have conflicting objectives. You can expect a variety of fresh characters, with Lando being just one of them. The anticipation of boarding that cruiser is off the charts. I’m simply thrilled for everyone to experience it!

Regarding potential future developments for Kay following the completion of the DLCs, Khavari stated, “Well, truthfully, my thoughts are mainly centered around what comes after launch at this moment.

Currently, we are filming sequences for the recently announced expansion pack, “The Pirate’s Fortune,” featuring the character Hondo. That’s what’s currently occupying my thoughts.

“I mean, I’d love to see more Kay. There’s no question. But yeah, that’s where my head’s at.”
