Today is May 4th, and that’s a big day for Star Wars fans everywhere as they honor LucasFilm’s legendary science fiction franchise. But if you’re gaming on PlayStation 5 or PlayStation 4, the celebrations might feel a bit subdued.
As a die-hard Star Wars fan, I’m thrilled that Aspyr has dropped a collection of classic Star Wars games! However, it’s a bit disappointing to note that this release seems leaner on Sony’s platforms compared to others.
If you’re buying on the PS5 and the PS4, you’ll get six games:
- Star Wars: Bounty Hunter
- Star Wars: Episode I Racer
- Star Wars: Episode I: Jedi Power Battles
- Star Wars: Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast
- Star Wars: Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy
- Star Wars: Republic Commando

But if you’re playing on the Nintendo Switch, you’ll get all of the above plus the following:
- Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
- Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords
- Star Wars: The Force Unleashed
To be fair, the pricing reflects the differences in content.
As a fellow enthusiast, I’m excited to share that you can grab the Grand Collection for just $89.99/£73.99 on PlayStation or a slightly pricier $139.99/£125.99 on the Nintendo Switch! Right now, there’s a 50% discount happening on both platforms, so it’s the perfect time to jump in and enjoy this bundle at a reduced price.
Despite the fact that they’ve been released for quite some time, it remains intriguing as to why the Knights of the Old Republic series and The Force Unleashed haven’t been ported to the PS5 and PS4 yet.
