Star Wars: The Acolyte Finale Includes Massive Franchise Cameo

As a dedicated Star Wars fan with years of immersion into the galaxy far, far away, I was both thrilled and intrigued by the introduction of Yoda in “Star Wars: The Acolyte.” With most of the beloved characters from the saga being centuries away during this era, it was a rare treat to catch a glimpse of such an iconic figure.

During the timeframe of “Star Wars: The Acolyte” in the High Republic Era, most beloved characters from previous Star Wars stories weren’t present. Since the majority of Star Wars movies and shows have been set post-“The Acolyte,” these characters hadn’t existed yet. However, there’s a notable exception who made an unexpected appearance at the end of Season 1 finale. (Major spoilers for “Star Wars: The Acolyte” follow. Proceed with caution!)

During the introduction of the High Republic Era a few years back in books and comics, it came to light that Yoda was not only alive but had already attained the esteemed title of Jedi Master during this time. He has featured prominently in several stories from this era so far, even assuming significant roles in some of them. Recently, Star Wars enthusiasts have been treated to a live-action portrayal of Yoda in the High Republic timeline.

In the course of the episode, Vernestra Rwoh made an attempt to reach out to another unnamed Jedi for assistance and to update them on Sol, Osha, and Mae’s situation. Surprisingly enough, that Jedi was none other than Yoda. Sadly, we barely had a chance to see him before the end credits rolled in. Here’s a peek!

Yoda returned to Coruscant to discuss with Vern the tragic occurrences that claimed the lives of multiple Jedi. Though we only catch glimpses of him – his long, green ears and white-haired crown – Yoda’s distinctive appearance is instantly recognizable.

After she revealed to the Chancellor and Senate that Sol was an unaligned Jedi, taking independent actions and responsible for the deaths of others, he served as a convenient target. The Jedi Order used him as a fall guy to shield themselves from scrutiny and carry on with their business undisturbed.

During the era of The High Republic, the story of Star Wars: The Acolyte unfolds. This captivating tale follows a Jedi master as he faces off against his former apprentice in a desperate bid to solve a series of enigmatic crimes. As they delve deeper into the mystery, their journey grows increasingly ominous, revealing dark truths neither had anticipated.

Amandla Stenberg, Lee Jung-jae, Manny Jacinto, Dafne Keen, Charlie Barnett, Jodie Turner-Smith, Rebecca Henderson, Dean-Charles Chapman, Joonas Suotamo, and Carrie-Anne Moss headline the cast of Star Wars: The Acolyte. This new Star Wars series made its debut on Disney+ on June 4th.
