Star Wars: The Acolyte Star Manny Jacinto Says Season 2 Is Now a Life Goal

As a die-hard Star Wars fan who has witnessed the rise and fall of numerous series, I must say that the news about the potential cancellation of “Star Wars: The Acolyte” has left me heartbroken. Manny Jacinto’s passionate declaration for a second season at Dragon Con is nothing short of inspiring. If I were to be reincarnated as a Star Wars character, I would hope it’d be Qimir, just so I could get another taste of the electrifying lightsaber battles he delivered!

Currently, it seems unlikely that Star Wars: The Acolyte, initially created by Leslye Headland for Disney and Lucasfilm, will have a second season, given their recent decision to cancel it. This news has sparked discontent among fans as well as the series’ cast and crew, particularly because the ending of the first season hinted at further story developments. Star Amandla Stenberg has expressed her disappointment on social media, while co-star Manny Jacinto has stated that he aims to carry on with the series in the future.

Jacinto appeared at Dragon Con over the weekend, and he was asked during a panel about his various life and career goals. When asked about something he still wants to do “before you leave this mortal coil,” Jacinto simply smiled and said into the microphone, “The Acolyte Season 2.”

In the show “The Acolyte”, Stenberg shone brightly, taking on both primary roles. However, it was Jacinto who captured the hearts of fans with his portrayal of Qimir. Initially, Qimir appeared as a quiet secondary character, hinting at connections to the enigmatic Sith lord dominating the series. But then, about halfway through Season 1, the villain was revealed to be none other than Qimir himself. He left an indelible mark by slaughtering several main characters with a breathtaking display of lightsaber combat, which proved to be one of the most captivating in recent memory.

After Qimir was revealed, he quickly became a beloved character among fans, and Jacinto openly expressed his heartfelt pride for what they and Headland accomplished with that character. Considering the incredible momentum Qimir gained following the Season 1 finale of The Acolyte, it’s heartbreaking to think that we might not witness him in live-action Star Wars storytelling ever again.

As I traverse through the galaxy during The High Republic era, I find myself immersed in the captivating tale of Star Wars: The Acolyte. This intriguing narrative thrusts me into an enigma surrounding a string of ominous crimes that propels a Jedi master and his former apprentice into a fierce competition to expose the truth behind these sinister events.

This show, titled “Star Wars: The Acolyte“, made its debut on Disney+ on the 4th of June, featuring Amandla Stenberg, Lee Jung-jae, Manny Jacinto, Dafne Keen, Charlie Barnett, Jodie Turner-Smith, Rebecca Henderson, Dean-Charles Chapman, Joonas Suotamo, and Carrie-Anne Moss as its leading stars.
