This series has been an exhilarating journey through the Star Wars galaxy, offering unique perspectives and fresh takes on a universe I thought I knew inside out.
It’s a good day for the Galaxy, with Star Wars Visions Volume 3 officially being confirmed!
At Disney’s Content Showcase event held over two days in Singapore, it has been revealed that a fresh installment of their animated anthology series is slated for release around the year 2025.
Over nine Japanese anime studios, such as David Production, Kamikaze Douga+ ANIMA, Kinema Citrus, Polygon Pictures, Production I.G, Project Studio Q, TRIGGER, and WIT Studio, will create fresh animated short films.
2021 marked the beginning of a new venture for Star Wars enthusiasts, offering them non-canonical episodes in a variety of unique animation styles, each produced by studios based in Japan.

2023 saw the launch of Volume 2, showcasing international talents, among them being the renowned Aardman Animation hailing from the United Kingdom.
Volume 3 will see the series return to Japan.
Earlier, James Waugh, an executive producer, shared his reasons for venturing beyond the traditional Star Wars narrative. He stated, “Our aim was to provide these artists with ample room to delve into every imaginable aspect of the Star Wars universe using the distinctive perspective of anime.
We understood that it’s crucial for these creations to reflect the original authenticity from the studios and creators who meticulously craft them. Each piece is produced using the distinct processes they master so exceptionally in their chosen medium.
I exclaimed, “Indeed, the concept they envisioned was a breathtaking tribute to the myriad aspects of the Star Wars universe that have long captivated us. Their aim was to craft an exceptional anthology series, unique within the Star Wars galaxy – something truly extraordinary.
To this point, tales hailing from Visions have explored a myriad of subjects and personalities scattered throughout the cosmos. Regarding what fresh stories may bring, we’ll just have to wait and see!
