Initially verified in 2022, we’ve now gotten our first glimpse at the forthcoming production titled Star Wars: Zero Company.
At this year’s Star Wars Celebration held in Japan, I got a thrilling glimpse into the upcoming game through the release of its announcement trailer. For the very first time, it offered tantalizing glimpses of the storyline and gameplay that have me eagerly awaiting its arrival!
Although the narrative and gameplay are the primary elements highlighted, the trailer concludes by revealing that the game’s planned launch is tentatively set for the year 2026 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S platforms.
As a devoted fan, I’d express it like this: “I’m excited to share that according to game director Greg Foertsch, ‘Zero Company’ is a captivating single-player turn-based tactics game, uniquely set during the Clone Wars. This masterpiece is being crafted by Bit Reactor, a renowned strategy games studio known for their exceptional work on XCOM and Civilization series, among other esteemed titles.
Characters assume command over Hawks, a previous Republic soldier, leading their team in a tough-and-realistic narrative that unfolds during the final stages of the Clone Wars.
During the course of the game, players will perform different tasks alongside their crew, expanding and managing a base to collect intel on opponents and strengthen relationships within the team to unveil potent new powers and harmonious interactions.
According to Foertsch, the concept behind Star Wars: Zero Company is built upon core gameplay principles that seamlessly blend an immersive Star Wars universe with captivating turn-based strategy gameplay.
Our goal is to create a game set in the era of the Clone Wars, featuring a unique Star Wars narrative, where your decisions matter and shape significant results. The combat system will be strategically deep yet easy to grasp, offering a captivating and cinematic experience.
As a dedicated fan, I wholeheartedly resonate with the perspective shared by Orion Kellogg, the executive producer of Lucasfilm Games. He didn’t just say it’s a Clone Wars game; rather, he emphasized that it’s a game set within the Clone Wars, yet offering a fresh, unique perspective on this epic conflict.
He explains, “This game truly embodies Bit Reactor’s imagination. It’s their epic Star Wars saga, and we’re just assisting them in its narration. So you can expect the political drama of Andor, the intense battles like Rogue One, and the clever dialogue reminiscent of A New Hope. In essence, it’s a game that fully encapsulates the spirit of Star Wars.
This weekend, we’ll learn more about the Fortnite x Star Wars partnership, but it’s the Zero Company that steals the spotlight as the most anticipated gaming tale of the event. We can’t wait to find out more!
