Stars React to Sean Combs’ Allegations: Will Smith, Kesha, and More

Sean “Diddy” Combs is about to face a judge for his federal charges.

Six months following the arrest of a controversial rapper in September on charges of sex trafficking and racketeering, a jury has now been chosen. The trial proceedings, starting with the opening statements, are set to begin on May 12th.

During his stay at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York, while under federal supervision, the music mogul has consistently declared his innocence and pleaded not guilty to the accusations against him. These allegations encompass one count of racketeering conspiracy, two counts of sex trafficking, and two counts of facilitating prostitution.

In prison, the 55-year-old man, who is a father to Quincy (33), Justin (30), Christian (26), Chance (18), twins D’Lila and Jessie (17), and Love (2), from various previous relationships, has also faced over 120 accusations and lawsuits of sexual assault. However, he has consistently denied all these claims.

As an ardent admirer putting it, “I, being a die-hard fan, can’t refute each baseless accusation in this wild media spectacle. However, let me make it crystal clear: My beloved idol, Mr. Combs, unequivocally and vehemently denies any claims suggesting he has sexually abused anyone, even minors. He firmly states that these allegations are false and defamatory.

And before his arrest, Combs himself addressed the “sickening” allegations.

Without a shadow of a doubt, allow me to set the record straight: I have in no way shape or form been involved in any of the appalling accusations that are currently circulating. Rest assured, I am prepared to vigorously defend my reputation, protect my loved ones, and uphold the truth at all costs.

Over time, numerous stars who’ve interacted with Combs in the past have occasionally shared their thoughts following the unveiling of the federal indictment detailing his alleged crimes in September.

LL Cool J expressed empathy towards Diddy’s children during a speech at the Black Music Coalition Gala in September. Regarding other matters, he stated, “That’s what we have the court system for.” However, he made it clear that his concern is with Diddy’s kids.

Months following Combs’ arrest, the star of “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” made it clear in public statements that he no longer had any connection to the now discredited rapper.

He made it clear in a December 2024 performance, as reported by TMZ, that he has no connection to Puff Daddy. Therefore, everyone should stop creating those memes linking the two of them.

In simpler terms, he said, “I haven’t had anything to do with such nonsense. Let me clarify, I handle my own matters quite well, so please don’t involve me in someone else’s drama.

The crowd reacted enthusiastically when he brought up the name Combs. Meanwhile, Smith made it clear, “I haven’t had any interaction with that individual, nor have I engaged in such foolish behavior.

In October 2024, the ex-talk show host expressed his opinion to the Daily Mail, stating it was long overdue for a lawsuit against the now discredited rapper.

She noted, “It’s quite unusual because numerous individuals have told me, ‘You predicted it correctly,’ and even some of my relatives have echoed this sentiment.

As a lifestyle expert, I’d rephrase that sentence as follows: Back in 2010, when my hit song “TiKToK” started with the line, “Wake up in the morning feeling like P. Diddy,” I, Kesha, felt it was appropriate at the time. However, given the allegations against him in the months leading up to his arrest, I decided it was necessary to revise that lyric for future performances and interpretations of the song.

At Coachella 2024, the “Woman” singer instead sang, “Wake up in the morning like F–k P. Diddy.”

Following the widespread adoption of the change, she informed TMZ that this alteration is now permanent. She suggested that fans should get accustomed to it, particularly for her forthcoming performances.

In response to accusations, Eminem, popularly known as “The Real Slim Shady”, chose to express his views through his music. In his 2024 track titled “Fuel,” the Grammy-winning artist criticized Sean Combs for various allegations, including rape claims, which Combs has refuted along with his federal charges.

In simpler terms, “I’m like a R-A-P-E-R,” Eminem sings in the song. “He wrote so many S’s instead of using both S and P as in ‘Rapper’, but it seems intentional.

Following the dismissed rape lawsuit that implicated him, Jay-Z finally spoke up about his connection with Combs regarding their shared business dealings.

Alex Spiro, representing Jay-Z, clarified in a statement issued in December 2024 that Mr. Carter has no involvement or connection to Mr. Combs’ case. They had a professional relationship that spanned several years.

The musician known as Jay-Z repeatedly refuted the accusations, which claimed he had sexually assaulted a 13-year-old girl. He maintained that these allegations were untrue until the lawsuit was dismissed from court.

Not long after the case was dismissed, Jay-Z expressed on a social media post, “The story they fabricated was amusing, were it not for the gravity of the accusations.

In music, he often teams up with Combs, but the star of NCIS: LA (whose real name is James Todd Smith) touched upon his arrest that occurred in September 2024 for a brief moment.

At the Black Music Coalition Gala that month, LL Cool J expressed empathy for the children of a particular individual, stating, “I can’t comment on other matters, as those are issues for the court system to handle. However, my concern is with his children, and I truly feel for them.

A short while following Combs’ detention, the rapper, also known as Curtis James Jackson, subtly contested the accusations by posting a picture with Drew Barrymore on social media.

In a September 2024 Instagram post, he shared, “I’m enjoying great company with @thedrewbarrymoreshow.” Contrary to what was reported in a recent investigation, there are no thousand bottles of lubricant or baby oil stored at my house. (During an earlier raid this year, federal agents seized over 1,000 bottles of baby oil and lubricant from Combs’ residence as part of their investigation.)

The panel on “The View” talked about Combs’ arrest immediately following the incident in September 2024. Goldberg found the indictment to be both extensive and troubling.

Later on, however, when discussing the 1,000 bottles of baby oil discovered in Combs’ home, she casually remarked to the audience, “It’s not illegal, folks.
