Following my accurate prediction of the Nintendo Switch 2’s unveiling date, the enigmatic leaker known as NateTheHate has hinted at an upcoming State of Play event in February. While specifics are still under wraps, considering Sony’s history of favoring this month (or nearby) for such events in recent times, it seems plausible.
The real inquiry lies in what these unveilings may disclose. Last year showcased gameplay for the remake of Silent Hill 2, along with the reveals of Sonic X Shadow Generations, Rise of the Ronin, Silent Hill: The Short Message, Metro Awakening, and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. Kojima Productions also made a significant impact during the broadcast, presenting fresh footage for Death Stranding 2: On the Beach and announcing a new stealth action IP titled Physint.
This year, we’re likely to find out when Death Stranding 2 is coming out, and perhaps that will be during the next State of Play event. We might also get updates on projects like Sucker Punch’s Ghost of Yotei, which is set for release in 2025, and Haven Studios’ cooperative heist shooter Fairgame$. It’s possible that Bend Studio might reveal their next intellectual property as well. Keep an eye out for more news in the meantime.
How’s February sound?
