There’s a lot of chatter about when the next PlayStation State of Play might air, but gaming news source Giant Bomb’s Jeff Grubb hints that it may be scheduled for June instead of this month.
In the recent Game Mess Mornings, NateTheHate dropped a hint about a May event for Sony that I hadn’t caught wind of either. Grubb chimed in, “Same here.” But it seems like there’s some secretive June project in the works instead. It’s all happening in June; looks like they’ve got something brewing then.
It seems unlikely that it will be a major event like a PlayStation Showcase. Instead, it could be the regular State of Play, as reported by Grubb, who suggests they are considering both options and have not made a final decision yet. He mentioned hearing June as a potential month for this event, but nothing is certain.
This year, Sony will release two significant PS5 exclusives: “Death Stranding 2: On the Beach” and “Ghost of Yōtei”. Director Hideo Kojima has announced that a final trailer for the former is scheduled to debut around two weeks before its release date on June 26th. It’s possible this new trailer could be unveiled at the anticipated State of Play event.
The follow-up to Ghost of Tsushima in an open-world setting by Sucker Punch is set to release on October 2nd exclusively for PS5. It’s possible we might get a trailer showcasing more gameplay details, and perhaps even some exciting new announcements, so keep an eye out!
