Stephen King Campaigns for Paramount+ to Renew Evil

As a long-time fan of Stephen King’s works and a connoisseur of intriguing television series, I wholeheartedly support his recent call for Paramount+ to revive the captivating show “Evil.” The unique blend of religion, science, and horror in this series is truly unparalleled, and it’s a rare treat to witness such creative storytelling.

Stephen King, known for his frequent social media musings on various pop culture topics such as TV, music, and films, has voiced his support for the revival of Paramount+’s series “Evil.” The show, a blend of horror and thriller, featured Mike Colter from “Luke Cage,” and aired for four seasons on the platform before concluding on August 22nd. Notably, King isn’t the only one calling for more “Evil” – when shows are cancelled these days, it’s common to see petitions or even planes with messages – but it’s less typical to have an author whose books have inspired countless hours of movies and TV series advocating on behalf of a show.

King’s message, presented as a (very short) open letter, was concise. You can see the post below.

If you struggle with the low resolution there, it just says “Dear Paramount: More EVIL, please.”

“Jeff Grossman, Executive Vice President of Programming at Paramount+, praised Robert and Michelle King for their innovative and engaging approach to examining the crossroads of faith and science when it comes to their show Evil, back in February. He expressed gratitude towards Robert, Michelle, the exceptionally skilled cast and crew, and is excitedly anticipating the upcoming final season, promising a thrilling, rollercoaster journey for these characters.”

In the final season, the creators were given an extra four episodes as a bonus, which they used to tie up loose ends neatly.

David Stapf, President of CBS Studios, emphasized that Robert and Michelle King consistently create intriguing, boundary-pushing narratives filled with thought-provoking content, and this is evident in their show, “Evil”. He went on to express pride in working with them and gratitude towards them, Liz Glotzer, the cast, and the crew for breathing life into such complex characters over multiple seasons. As we mark the final season of “Evil”, he expressed his appreciation for the team’s remarkable work.

The show delves into the enigma of evil, exploring its roots at the intersection of science and faith. It features an impressive cast including Katja Herbers, Mike Colter, Aasif Mandvi, Michael Emerson, Andrea Martin, Kurt Fuller, Christine Lahti, Brooklyn Shuck, Skylar Gray, Maddy Crocco, and Dalya Knapp.

The show “Evil” is jointly produced by CBS Studios and King Size Productions. Robert King, Michelle King, Liz Glotzer, Rockne S. O’Bannon, and Sam Hoffman are the executive producers. This series is distributed worldwide by Paramount Global Content Distribution.
