Storm Is Getting Another New Costume for Her X-Men Solo Series

As a longtime Storm fan, I can hardly contain my excitement for the upcoming X-Men solo series! With her recent addition to the Avengers roster and the release of the X-Men ’97 animated series, it’s truly a golden age for Storm enthusiasts like myself. The fact that Marvel is giving her not one but TWO new costumes in the series just seals the deal!

In the upcoming month, Storm is set to undergo a stylish transformation as she debuts in her solo X-Men series. This is an exciting time for Storm enthusiasts, with the recent launch of the X-Men ’97 animated series and her promotion within the Avengers comic book team. As we enter the X-Men: From the Ashes era, which includes several standalone titles, the comic series Storm, written by Murewa Ayodele and Lucas Werneck, is generating a lot of buzz. Storm, Earth’s fashionable X-Man, will be sporting a new costume from the second issue of her comic book.

In the upcoming issue #2 of Storm, Ororo Munroe will be introducing a second new costume in the series, which is a fresh design by Lucas Werneck. While the primary costume for Storm has already been revealed, this second issue will also introduce a reinterpretation of Storm’s classic silver suit, featuring a full-body white costume accented with a gold lightning bolt on the chest and sides. Fans can anticipate more costumes designed by Werneck in future issues of Storm.

What can fans expect out of Marvel’s Storm series?

Eager to turn Storm into the most extraordinary comic book series, Ayodele and Werneck kick off their storyline with Storm plunging headlong into a looming nuclear disaster. From this point onwards, her adventures become increasingly intense as she captures the interest (and respect) of mighty cosmic entities like Oblivion, as well as powerful villains who rival her status such as Doctor Doom. As Storm solidifies her position as Earth’s foremost protector, she will need a wardrobe capable of withstanding any challenge! Readers can anticipate the introduction of several new additions to Storm’s impressive legacy of iconic costumes, featuring armors, cosmic-infused suits, and naturally, an abundance of stylish off-duty clothing befitting a goddess!

Werneck mentioned that fashion serves as one of his go-to sources for inspiration. He emphasized the importance of understanding a character through their attire, as it tells a visual story. When Marvel allowed him to design the costume for a renowned character like Ororo, he was thrilled beyond words.

He mentioned, “I’m genuinely making an effort to help her express a unique style.” He envisions her radiating a divine yet relatable charm. The task is to reflect every characteristic that makes her distinct through her clothing, behavior, speech, and lifestyle choices. I’m really enjoying the process, and I look forward to the audience appreciating the intricate details we’re adding to her character as well as the unexpected elements we’ve been developing for this series.

What is Storm #2 about?

As a devoted admirer, I can’t help but feel the weight of impending doom. The mysterious radiation sickness from the Oklahoma Incident has transformed STORM into a living time bomb, with each second ticking away. Will the miraculous care at NIGHT NURSE’s groundbreaking super-hero hospital offer her a cure before it’s too late? Or will the mystical healing powers of DOCTOR VOODOO be needed to save her life?

The second installment of “Storm” will be available for purchase starting November 20th. Below, you can take a look at Lucas Werneck’s design concept for Storm’s updated costume, as well as cover art for issues #1 through #3.
