Reflecting on his time on set, Wolfhard expressed that the last day of filming was a deeply emotional experience. For the creators, The Duffer Brothers, it also represented a significant milestone as they started their journey when they were thirty and are now forty. Throughout this long journey, everyone had shared in the experience. Wolfhard added that his entire childhood was woven into this project, making it reminiscent of saying goodbye to cherished toys in Toy Story 3. He described it as a particularly poignant moment. With such a heartfelt comment, it’s safe to say fans should be prepared for similar feelings.
Previously, similar feelings have arisen as the conclusion of “Stranger Things” proved quite emotional for all those connected with the show. Millie Bobby Brown has previously spoken about the difficulty she faced bidding farewell to her character Eleven. However, it appears that everyone was content with how the narrative concluded. In fact, Wolfhard likened the filming process to the epic and grueling shoot of “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy.
He commented, “Last year was quite an extended period for us.” He continued, “We filmed almost like ‘The Lord of the Rings’ trilogy, with a year-long production. It was an exceptional approach and incredibly intense. I can’t help but feel that it couldn’t have concluded any better.
David Harbour shared that the series ending was an emotional journey for the entire cast. He explained how being part of this lengthy production had created a strong bond among them, significantly impacting their goodbyes. In his opinion, the season, particularly the last episode, is incredibly moving and beautiful.
It’s fair to assume that the last season of Stranger Things looks set to be an exciting prospect for fans who have followed its journey for 10 years. The creators, the Duffer Brothers, have suggested that this final chapter will draw heavily on nostalgia, revisiting the emotional depth and core themes from the first season. Moreover, it’s been hinted that this season may be expansive in scope. Yet, there are whispers that its tone might veer into more mature territory, possibly earning an R-rating. However, these suggestions remain speculative as very little has been officially confirmed about the upcoming season beyond the titles of each episode.
