Update [Mon 16th Jun 2025, 1:45pm]:
It’s not surprising that, as rumored, Capcom has announced an upcoming Street Fighter 6 update featuring the K-pop sensation AESPA in some capacity. Previous leaks have hinted that Juri will receive a new costume modeled after one of Winter’s signature styles.
I’m really excited to find out more about the extent and depth of this collaboration – it promises to be quite intriguing!
It came as a planned surprise today to discover that some classic Famicom games have been incorporated into Street Fighter 6, but there appears to be an oversight with the latest Juri outfit, which prominently features the name of K-pop group AESPA. This seems more like an error rather than intentional inclusion.
In the heat of battle against V-Rivals within the Global Arena, players stumbled upon a disguise by chance. This mode offers an opportunity to hone skills by battling AI representations of players worldwide.
In their announcement, Capcom stated that they were temporarily halting the game’s release because an “unanticipated costume” might be applied to the character. Based on leaked screenshots, she appears to have a golden streak in her hair and is wearing shoes, which is unexpected for her usual attire.
However, the visible AESPA band name on her chest suggests there’s more to come in terms of their collaborative projects that have not been disclosed publicly yet.
It’ll be intriguing to discover how this collaboration unfolds and whether it signals a shift in Capcom’s approach to costume releases, as hinted at earlier this year. Since they mentioned a total overhaul of the way costumes and Fighter Passes are released, we’ll just have to stay tuned to find out what they have planned.
For now, Karina is my top choice among AESPA and seems most fitting. I’ll catch up with you all in the comments section, fellow Winter fans.
