Street Fighter 6 Trailer Highlights Fatal Fury’s Mai Shiranui

As a seasoned gamer with decades of martial arts fighting games under my belt, the addition of Mai Shiranui to Street Fighter 6 is like a sweet symphony to my battle-scarred ears! I vividly remember her from the Fatal Fury days and her return to Capcom’s flagship series fills me with unbridled excitement.

Terry Bogard introduced Fatal Fury to Street Fighter 6 by Capcom, but he’ll soon have some companions. Mai Shiranui, a well-known character from Fatal Fury, will be joining the roster in early 2025 as part of the Year 2 Character Pass. This includes her iconic stage from Fatal Fury 2. A fresh teaser has been released, depicting the World Tour protagonist encountering her.

Soon after, Mai finds herself under attack by rival ninjas. We get a glimpse of her fighting style, including the powerful Hissatsu Shinobi Bachi elbow strike and the defensive anti-air Hishou Ryuuenjin maneuver. Towards the end, even the mid-air Musasabi no Mai is executed, though luckily for our protagonist, she manages to dodge most of the impact. This is fortunate since she’s their new Master in the World Tour.

In the second year’s expansion, Mai Shiranui is the third character added as downloadable content; the fourth character, Elena from “Street Fighter 3: New Generation,” is set to arrive in Spring 2025. Keep an eye out for further updates on her moves and the specific date of her release.

The video game titled “Street Fighter 6” can be played on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, personal computers, and Xbox Series X/S. Take a look at our assessment of its initial version and how it’s been holding up one year post-release.
