The announcement of Jamie Borthwick joining Strictly Come Dancing this year has sent a wave of nostalgia through me. Known for his long-standing role as Jay Brown in EastEnders since the tender age of 12, Jamie has certainly paid his dues on the small screen.
As a long-time fan of Strictly Come Dancing, I can hardly contain my excitement as the show returns later this year to celebrate its 20th anniversary on TV! Having grown up watching this incredible competition and seeing it bring joy and entertainment to millions, I’ve witnessed firsthand how it has evolved over the years.

It’s been announced that one of the network’s popular actors, Jamie Borthwick from EastEnders, is expected to start dancing on stage shortly.
Next year, he plans to continue where Freddie Slater’s character left off, as Bobby Brazier, his fellow cast member, made it to the final three in the previous season’s competition.

Jamie Borthwick is primarily recognized for playing the character Jay Brown on the long-running BBC drama series “EastEnders,” a part he’s been portraying since 2006, starting when he was only 12 years old.
In my cinematic journeys, I’ve dabbled in both dramatic and comedic roles, gracing the screen in shows like “Not Going Out” and even stepping into a comical corner as part of a television adaptation of the classic musical “Oliver!”. Interestingly enough, this production featured my esteemed “EastEnders” colleague, the talented Shane Richie.
In the past, this individual has already tried to impress on the dance floor during a Strictly Christmas special event, where he danced with professional dancer Nancy Xu last year.
He was so good that the pair were crowned that year’s winners, and he modestly said: “This is great. It’s been a wonderful experience, but we’re all winners here.”
