This year’s cast of professional dancers on BBC has been officially announced, featuring beloved celebrities making their comeback to the dance floor for another thrilling season.
As a movie buff eagerly awaiting the new season, I’m thrilled to share that Dianne Buswell, Nadiya Bychkova, Amy Dowden, Karen Hauer, and none other than Katya Jones will be gracing the dancefloor once again!
Additionally, Neil Jones, Nikita Kuzmin, Gorka Marquez, Luba Mushtuk, and Jowita Przystal will be joining them as well.
There had been some uncertainty about whether Johannes Radebe would return after he ventured into the theater scene with the Kinky Boots UK tour. However, it has been confirmed that the talented South African dancer is set to return to Elstree for another season.
I’m thrilled to share that Aljaž Škorjanec, Kai Widdrington, Nancy Xu, Carlos Gu, Lauren Oakley, Michelle Tsiakkas, and Vito Coppola will be gracing the screen with me in our upcoming project. Can’t wait for this collaboration!
Not only that, but they won’t dance on their own! Two fresh, professional dancers are set to take the stage for the first time on Strictly Come Dancing. More information about their appearances will be shared as the show gets closer to its return.
As a movie critic looking back on last year’s dance scene, I can confidently say that the grand return of Strictly Come Dancing for its magnificent 20th season was nothing short of spectacular! The charm and grace displayed by Chris McCausland and Dianne Buswell as they danced their way to victory, ultimately lifting the radiant Glitterball trophy, left audiences spellbound and eager for more.
2024 saw the BBC’s largest unscripted TV series to date, as the primary program consistently attracted an average of 8.8 million viewers throughout its run. Interestingly, the finale drew in a remarkable 10.1 million viewers.
2024 marked a new record for Strictly viewership on BBC iPlayer as it attracted more viewers than any previous year, accounting for about one-fifth of its total audience.
Sarah James, an executive producer at BBC Studios, expressed her anticipation for the upcoming series, noting that they’re thrilled to have our exceptional returning professionals join us once again. Moreover, we can’t wait to introduce two fresh professional dancers to the mix, who will undoubtedly contribute to another awe-inspiring season filled with stunning dance performances and much more, set to captivate viewers later in 2025.
