As a long-time Strictly enthusiast who has witnessed countless dances over the years, I must say that Aljaž Škorjanec’s Halloween Week Samba with Tasha Ghouri was nothing short of breathtaking! The energy, the charisma, and the sheer fun they brought to the dancefloor were simply infectious.
Among the most enjoyable weeks on the Strictly Come Dancing schedule, Halloween Week stands out as a personal favorite for professional dancer Aljaž Škorjanec. He expressed this sentiment himself, following his achievement of breaking a record during this week’s performance.
On the dance floor, they transformed into Frankenstein’s monster and his companion, Tasha Ghouri, as their partner Aljaž danced. They gave it their all with a vibrant Samba choreographed to Reel 2 Real’s I Like to Move It, earning them universal acclaim from the judges who awarded them an impressive total of 37 points.
Claudia Winkleman shared one of her well-known Strictly Come Dancing statistics, which turned out to be a joyous occasion for both participants, carrying a special meaning for Aljaž.
The co-host informed Tasha and Aljaž, “This trivia: It’s the highest Halloween Samba we’ve ever seen, surpassing your previous record,” while gesturing towards the professional dancer.
After finishing their dance, Anton Du Beke awarded them a much-desired 10, remarking: “Weeks can vary in quality, some are good, others not so much. Last week wasn’t your strongest performance – this week, however, was one of the best weeks you could have.
Craig Revel Horwood found the dance “absolutely fantastic”, while Motsi Mabuse commended the “intricate routine”, describing it as “exceptional.
In the year 2015’s Halloween Week on Strictly, Aljaz previously danced a Samba with Helen George, earning them a total of 34 points.
Indeed, it’s truly delightful to witness Aljaz back on the Strictly dancefloor this season! Ever since he first joined the BBC series in 2013 and then left in 2022, he’s been a consistent presence that has added so much joy. Since his comeback, his partner Tasha has been thriving on the show, and their chemistry has made them a beloved duo among fans.
Following tonight’s show, spectators swiftly showered praise upon the Samba routine performed by Tasha and Aljaz. One enthusiast even exclaimed on X: “I can’t get enough of Tasha & Aljaz! The character portrayal was exceptional, their leg work was stunning, particularly towards the end – this was simply flawless!
