As a dedicated Strictly fan, who has been following this show since its very first steps, let me tell you that I am absolutely giddy with excitement about the upcoming 22nd season! The fact that it’s also marking the show’s 20th anniversary just makes it all the more special. I can hardly contain myself until Wednesday, when the launch trailer airs at 7:29pm on BBC One.

In a few short days, Strictly Come Dancing will make its comeback, airing on BBC One and BBC iPlayer starting in September.

Looking forward to its comeback, the BBC has announced that a premiere trailer is set to be aired tonight, specifically on Wednesday, 4th September, at 7:29pm on BBC One – and has teased us with a sneak peek of what’s in store through some fresh visuals.

This year’s professional dancers were also pictured in the ballroom, and images were shared that depicted the theme of the trailer. The trailer aims to inspire everyone to hop on board the “Strictly” bus.

The dance routine for the trailer and launch event has been created by Jason Gilkison, featuring a medley of songs including “We Like to Party! (The Vengabus)” by Vengaboys, “Baby Baby” by Corona, “Pump Up the Jam + Get Up (Before the Night Is Over)” by Technotronic and “Absolutely Everybody” by Vanessa Amorosi.

Previously declared: The upcoming launch event will incorporate a joyous dance tribute to celebrate Amy Dowden’s return to the ballroom. Last year, her appearance was absent due to breast cancer treatment.

Typically, the kickoff event will unveil who among the famous participants will be partnered with which pro dancers. Notably, they’ll all be showcasing a synchronized performance as well.
