As I sat down to catch up on some quality telly, I was absolutely thrilled to find that Channel 5 were airing a two-hour documentary about Strictly Come Dancing – a show I’ve followed with great enthusiasm since its humble beginnings as a quaint old late-night ballroom competition. The tantalizing title, “Strictly Come Dancing: Secrets, Sex & Scandals”, promised a juicy insight into the glittering world of Strictly, delving deep into the highs, lows, costumes, competitions, and controversies that have made it the must-watch show it is today.
I’m thrilled to share that Channel 5 is set to release a captivating two-hour documentary on everyone’s favorite dance show, Strictly Come Dancing! This film promises to take us through the ups and downs, glamorous costumes, intense competitions, and even the juicy controversies that have become synonymous with this beloved series. Can’t wait to revisit some of my favorite moments!
On the same evening as the 2024 launch of Strictly Come Dancing, the documentary is intended to “follow the evolution of Strictly, from its beginnings in a cozy late-night ballroom competition called Come Dancing, through a popular Australian romantic comedy film, all the way to the grand spectacle it is today.”
This program, Strictly Come Dancing: Secrets, Sex & Scandals, offers exclusive interviews with judges, skilled dancers, and popular personalities. It reminisces about the most entertaining competitors, as well as the significant progress it has made, such as advocating for individuals with disabilities and paving the way for same-sex dance partners
The analysis will delve into the more controversial aspects of the talent show too, including the infamous “Strictly curse”, the intense stress and demand for perfection in choreographing routines, and the recent allegations that led to the BBC implementing new safety measures and conducting a thorough investigation
The documentary, claimed as the ultimate tale of the UK’s most illustrious TV program, will broadcast on Saturday, 14th September, starting at 9 pm, only on Channel 5
In 2024, Strictly Come Dancing is back, gracing our screens on BBC One at 7:20 pm. A fresh group of well-known individuals will step onto the dance floor, each aspiring to win the coveted Glitterball trophy
2021’s lineup features comedian Chris McCausland, former member of the band JLS JB Gill, as well as singers Wynne Evans and Toyah Willcox
Alongside Dr. Punam Krishan, Tasha Ghouri, Pete Wicks, Shayne Ward, Sarah Hadland, and Tom Dean, the roster is completed
Completing the Strictly Come Dancing Class of 2024 are Jamie Borthwick, Montell Douglas, Nick Knowles, Paul Merson, and Sam Quek
Due to recent accusations stemming from ex-celebrity contestants, the BBC has decided to station one of its Strictly Come Dancing production team members in all upcoming rehearsals moving forward
In addition, there will be two new dedicated welfare producers as part of added extra measures.
Upon being queried about the implementation of new rules, judge Craig Revel Horwood remarked, “Everyone’s training journey is unique, and what they absorb during their learning process gets applied in the training space. I believe it’s beneficial to have people brought into the rehearsal rooms as mediators.”
“We have chaperones in the theatre all the time, especially with children and younger people. It’s a good thing to have a third eye on the whole situation.”
