Strictly star Tasha Ghouri explains how dance-off shock has helped her prepare for finale

As someone who has watched Strictly Come Dancing for years, I must say that Tasha Ghouri‘s journey this season has been nothing short of inspiring. Her resilience and determination to keep dancing despite being in the dance-off twice is truly commendable. She’s using every challenge as a stepping stone towards her goal, and it’s clear that she’s enjoying every moment of it.

Tasha Ghouri is gearing up to compete for the Glitterball trophy during the Strictly Come Dancing finale this coming Saturday, motivated following two instances where she was involved in the dance-off.

Previously, Tasha Ghouri and her dance partner Aljaž Škorjanec found themselves in a surprising predicament, ending up among the bottom two contestants, even though they had received a flawless score for their performances that week.

For the second consecutive time, Tasha and Aljaž found themselves in a contest to keep their position, successfully outperforming Pete Wicks and Jowita Przystał in the judges’ opinion. The judges collectively decided to keep them in the competition by casting all their votes in their favor.

Instead of being disheartened by it, Tasha views the situation as an opportunity to gain momentum leading up to Saturday’s grand finale, where she will showcase her last three performances in hopes of winning the audience’s favor.

Prior to the finals, Tasha remarked: “I don’t view the dance-off as a negative experience. Instead, it enriches my experience with additional moments, both highs and lows.

I told Aljaž that I’d love to dance with him again, either the Waltz or the Argentine Tango. It’s just another chance to dance together. So, I said, “Why not give it a try?

Last week in the semi-final, I recall vividly when we started with the Salsa performance. My emotions were on fire and there were butterflies swirling in my stomach because I thought, “I can’t afford to falter at this final stage.” I truly yearned to surpass that challenge.

I’m incredibly pleased that we faced the challenge and persevered. Instead of defeating us, it only served to make us stronger.

She’s genuinely enjoyed every moment. Each team – hair styling, costumes, set design – everyone contributing is simply a delightful and kind group to work with, she concluded.

I enter rehearsals with a cheerful expression, and I exit with one too – just like Saturdays. You understand, it’s a lengthy day, yet everyone carries an enthusiastic, yet tension-filled vibe, as we all strive for our performance to excel.

“And I think that’s the beauty of it, you know, the magic of Strictly.”

To win the coveted Glitterball this weekend, Tasha and Aljaž will dance three final performances – these include two routines they’ve done before: Their Couple’s Choice routine to What About Us by P!nk, and their American Smooth routine to Lewis Capaldi’s Someone You Loved. The last one, either chosen by them or the judges, is a surprise.

As a movie buff, I’ll be dancing to “Sing, Sing, Sing” by Benny Goodman as we bid farewell, symbolizing our shared journey.

Tasha will be teaming up with comedian Chris McCausland, professional dancer Dianne Buswell, Miranda actress Sarah Hadland, previous year’s winner Vito Coppola, and JLS band member JB Gill along with his dance partner Lauren Oakley in the competition.

On this coming Saturday, during the live broadcast of Strictly, Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman will announce who has emerged victorious.
