Strictly’s Craig Revel Horwood says he loves Chris McCausland’s jibes

As a long-time Strictly Come Dancing enthusiast with a soft spot for British humor, I must say that this latest episode was a delightful watch! The camaraderie between the contestants and the judges is always a joy to see, but Chris McCausland’s quick wit took it to another level.

Over the weekend, viewers of Strictly Come Dancing burst into laughter, as comedian Chris McCausland playfully teased judge Craig Revel Horwood following his constructive criticism.

On last Saturday’s screening (October 19th), I, as a dedicated cinema enthusiast, found myself moved by McCausland’s heartfelt tribute to his beloved city of Liverpool, encapsulated in a beautiful waltz rendition of “You’ll Never Walk Alone” by Gerry and the Pacemakers.

Although the routine generally received positive feedback from the judges, Horwood offered some constructive criticism, pointing out that McCausland’s elbow position was excessively low and seemed to lack a proper swing.

Before Horwood had a chance to proceed, McCausland remarked, “Craig, let me add this too – your beard isn’t quite fitting on you, something I’m sure you already know. Just a friendly suggestion, sweetheart.

Amidst the audience’s hearty laughter, Craig gracefully accepted the remark, maintaining a harmonious relationship with his counterpart.

1) “Chris’s comments are consistently great, and everyone seems to be getting along wonderfully, which I’m genuinely happy about. I believe they make up a fantastic, diverse group.

Horwood didn’t stop there, saying he has been “really surprised” by McCausland’s dancing skills.

Speaking on the carpet at the Pride of Britain Awards, Ballas said: “We’ve had lots of surprises on the show. Punam, when she did her cultural number, we were just blown away.

“I think everybody, even from Toyah [when she] gave us an energy that we’ve never seen before.

It seems that the BBC has done an excellent job curating a great array of celebrities, with even more exciting things yet to come!

Regardless of McCausland’s “bent elbow”, he and his dance partner Dianne Buswell managed to secure the third position on the leaderboard with a score of 35 points for their Waltz, only four points behind Jamie Borthwick and Michelle Tsiakkas as well as Montell Douglas and Johannes Radebe.

Strictly Come Dancing airs Saturdays and Sundays on BBC One.
