Strike: The Ink Black Heart first-look pictures show Tom Burke and Holliday Grainger cracking new case

As a devoted fan who has followed the thrilling detective journey of Cormoran Strike and Robin Ellacott since the very beginning, I am absolutely ecstatic to see Tom Burke and Holliday Grainger back in action! The images of them walking arm in arm under the twinkling Christmas lights have only served to heighten my anticipation for this new season.

Approximately two years following the broadcast of the fifth season on BBC’s detective series Strike, Tom Burke and Holliday Grainger reprise their roles as Cormoran Strike and Robin Ellacott respectively. Here are some exclusive sneak peeks to confirm their return.

In one of the photos, you’ll find the pair resuming their roles, strolling hand-in-hand along a festively illuminated street, as depicted by another image. Here, Cormoran and Robin are walking side by side.

It’s still unclear when the upcoming episodes will be released, but considering the holiday-like atmosphere, they might appear on BBC One and BBC iPlayer towards the end of this year.

This year in February, they began shooting the upcoming season, derived from the sixth book in the series authored by JK Rowling, using the pen name Robert Galbraith.

At a certain point, an overview for the latest case was shared, indicating that distraught and unkempt Edie Ledwell barged into the office, requesting a conversation with private detective Robin Ellacott. Robin wasn’t entirely sure how to interpret this predicament.

As a devoted follower and fan of “The Ink Black Heart,” I’m deeply troubled by the fact that its co-creator, Edie, is being hounded by an enigmatic online persona known as Anomie. This anonymous figure has been causing distress for Edie, who is determined to unmask them and reveal their true identity.

Robin concludes that the agency won’t be able to assist with this matter, and for a while, she forgets about it. However, several days later, she learns the startling news that Edie was tasered and killed in Highgate Cemetery, which is where The Ink Black Heart resides.

As a dedicated cinephile, I’ve found myself deeply engrossed in the captivating mystery of uncovering Anomie’s true identity. Alongside my business partner, Cormoran Strike, we’ve been lured into this intricate puzzle. The trail is fraught with a labyrinthine network of online personas, conflicting business interests, and family squabbles. This case has proven to be a formidable challenge, testing the limits of our detective skills and determination.

For the upcoming season, Burke and Grainger will be joined by other familiar faces such as Ruth Sheen, Jack Greenlees, Natasha O’Keeffe, and Caitlin Innes Edwards, who are making a return. Meanwhile, we welcome fresh talents like David Westhead, Christian McKay, Emma Fielding, Tupele Dorgu, and James Nelson-Joyce to our cast.

Strike seasons 1-5 are available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
