As a dedicated fan who has grown up with A Question of Sport, the news of Sue Barker, Matt Dawson, and Phil Tufnell reuniting for a live tour is nothing short of exhilarating! I still remember the thrill of staying up late on school nights just to catch an episode of this legendary quiz show. The camaraderie between these three was not only entertaining but also heartwarming, making it a staple in my household for years.
Sports fans of “A Question of Sport” are excited about the upcoming live event where they will get to see one of the show’s beloved hosting trios reunite! Sue Barker, Matt Dawson, and Phil Tufnell will all be participating in the trivia segment together.
The performance is scheduled to take place at eleven venues throughout England. Organizers assure an enjoyable experience filled with familiar rounds and challenges, as well as fresh, unique elements designed exclusively for this tour.
In the spirit of the TV show, every performance will include a group of sports professionals as special guests. The specific list of attendees will be revealed closer to the dates, which are scheduled for March 2025.
The announcement mentions that attendees will have an opportunity to challenge the hosts with their sports trivia, and they’ll get to listen to exclusive stories about their careers – stories you won’t find on television.
In 1997, Barker took on the role as the lead host of A Question of Sport, followed by Dawson’s arrival in 2004 and Tufnell joining them in 2008. Their lively camaraderie has managed to maintain a dedicated fan base for this enduring quiz program over the years.
In 2021, a change of hosts to Paddy McGuinness, Sam Quek, and Ugo Monye sparked debate among long-term viewers. However, the program was eventually canceled in 2023 due to declining viewership and budget reductions.
Next year in March, you’ll find the initial group performing on tour in cities such as Brighton, London, Bath, Leicester, Bournemouth, Ipswich, Basingstoke, Torquay, Oxford, Manchester, and Nottingham. Tickets for these shows will be up for grabs at MyTicket starting from Wednesday morning at 10am.
