As a die-hard fan of legal dramas and Stephen Amell’s charismatic performances, I can hardly contain my excitement for Suits: LA! Having binge-watched Arrow and Heels, I’ve seen Amell’s acting chops firsthand, and I’m confident he’ll bring the same intensity to his role as Ted Black.
The popular legal drama Suits is about to return to our screens with a fresh take in Los Angeles, following its successful comeback on Netflix.
In the TV series “LA,” the well-known actor Stephen Amell will portray Ted Black, a lawyer who’s having trouble keeping his law firm running smoothly amidst the glitz and glamour of Los Angeles. However, his clients’ legal issues paint a very different picture of the city than the one often depicted.
The show presents an array of fresh characters who often blur the lines between their personal and work life, promising an enjoyable watch.
Fans of the initial Suits series might wonder about the current status of their beloved characters; fortunately, it’s been confirmed that one of the primary actors will make a comeback.

Suits: LA will premiere on Sunday 23rd February 2025 at 9pm (ET/PT) on US broadcaster NBC.
For viewers in the United Kingdom, we’ll need to wait for more information since the show doesn’t currently have a confirmed broadcasting platform here. However, if early reactions are favorable, it could lead to intense competition among broadcasters trying to secure the rights.
Initially, Suits gained traction on Netflix in the UK, and surprisingly, it also resonated with viewers in other regions. Subsequently, our local BBC decided to stream the show on iPlayer.
Suits: LA cast – new and returning
I’m Stephen Amell, stepping into the role of lawyer Ted Black on Suits: LA. Known for embodying DC Comics superhero Oliver Queen (also known as Green Arrow) in The CW’s eight-season hit series Arrow, I’ve also taken on the lead role in wrestling drama Heels.
In this setting, we find a character portraying Ted, a man formerly employed as a federal prosecutor in New York. He’s made a move to Los Angeles, switching his career path from prosecution to representing influential clients. Throughout the series, we’ll uncover the motivations behind this change.
Besides Gabriel Macht, Sarah Rafferty, Patrick J. Adams, and Meghan Markle from Suits: LA, you’ll find Josh McDermitt (from The Walking Dead) playing Stuart Lane, Lex Scott Davis (known for her role in Ricky Stanicky) as Erica Rollins, and Bryan Greenberg (a familiar face from The Mindy Project) taking on the character of Rick Dodsen.
Actor Troy Winbush from The Wilds and Alice Lee, previously seen on Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist, are set to play recurring characters in the series. Regrettably, we will be honored by the appearance of the late John Amos, who is known for his roles in The West Wing and Coming to America, but he will appear posthumously as a portrayal of himself.
Enthusiastically for enthusiasts of the initial show, it’s been verified that Gabriel Macht, who played Harvey Specter in Suits, will return to his role in the spin-off. However, according to Deadline, he is only expected to make guest appearances and not be a permanent cast member.
As a dedicated fan of Suits, I’ve been eagerly waiting for any updates about the original cast members joining Suits: LA. Recently, in an engaging chat with Entertainment Tonight, some of my fellow cast members, including my on-screen partner Patrick J Adams, have shown keen interest in the idea.

According to NBC’s official summary, “Ted Black, once a federal prosecutor based in New York, now takes on new roles by representing some of the most influential figures in Los Angeles.
Ted’s business is facing a critical juncture, and to keep it going, he needs to take on a job he has always despised. Ted’s colleagues are exceptional individuals who find themselves in situations where they have to balance their allegiance towards Ted and among themselves, all while blurring the lines between their personal and professional lives.
Meanwhile, as we piece together the past events that ultimately caused Ted to abandon his cherished relationships and possessions years ago, these current occurrences are unfolding.
