As a gaming enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that Summerfall Studios, the creators behind Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical, have unveiled their latest project – a deckbuilder with roguelike elements called Malys. Although they haven’t disclosed the platforms or release date yet, they plan to kickstart a campaign soon with the aim of delivering a complete 1.0 version within six months from the campaign’s launch. So, keep your eyes peeled for more updates!
Here is an overview of the game, via Summerfall Studios:
About
Experience the torment of exorcising demonic forces in David Gaider and Summerfall Studios’ roguelike deck-building game. Select your path, enhance your collection of magical abilities, and rid the world of wicked spirits possessing innocents. Face your past, form questionable partnerships, and reveal hidden secrets.
In the grimy city under cover of night, you roam as Noah – a transformed ex-priest now hunting demons, including your prime target, Malys, an exceptionally clever and powerful demon. Your mission is to unearth the corruption using your deck of cards, discovering creative combinations and tactics to survive the terrors. Offer aid to the desperate and liberate the possessed, or meet your end in the process… repeatedly.
Composed by David Gaider (previously the lead writer for BioWare’s Dragon Age series and creative director for Summerfall’s Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical), Malys offers a distinctive perspective within a well-known genre, expanding the limits of narrative structure in roguelites and providing an engagingly atmospheric experience.
Meet Noah
Noah, our protagonist for Malys, is a former priest turned tormented demon hunter.
