Preparing for the summer release of Superman in the DC Universe, another series installment titled Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow is underway in production. Over the past few months, cameras have been capturing scenes with Milly Alcock in character as Kara Zor-El. Recently, fans got a sneak peek at Alcock in her Supergirl attire, thanks to photos and videos shared by Twitter user @UnBoxPHDFILM from the set. One of these glimpses offers a somewhat fuzzy view of Kara’s “S” emblem.
Additionally, there are numerous photos and video previews showcasing a thrilling action sequence from the TV series ‘Supergirl’. In these previews, Kara, played by Alcock, is depicted fighting mysterious figures atop a tank. It seems that blue screens have been utilized, suggesting that special effects will be incorporated into this scene during editing after filming. As a movie enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that the highly-anticipated film, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, directed by Craig Gillespie, will grace our screens in June 2026! Before this epic adventure unfolds on the big screen, Sasha Calock will make her debut in the DC Universe under James Gunn’s direction in the upcoming Superman. The stellar cast of Supergirl includes Matthias Schoenaerts, Eve Ridley, David Krumholtz, Emily Beecham, and the remarkable Jason Momoa. Momoa is set to bring the iconic bounty hunter Lobo to life in this film!
In January, Gunn marked the beginning of Supergirl production by posting an exclusive backstage photo on social media. The picture showed Alcock seated on a production chair with her back to the camera, hinting at the potential appearance of a specific comic bar in the movie. Although Alcock’s Supergirl costume was not visible in the image, it suggested that the storyline from the Tom King and Bilquis Evely comic would be incorporated into the film.
I’ve noticed that Stella Alcock’s Supergirl costume seems strikingly reminiscent of the comic books, with its iconic blue top, red skirt, red boots, and yellow belt. Given that the creators are staying true to the source material when portraying Lobo, it makes sense that they would adopt a similar strategy for our leading lady, Supergirl. The colors in Alcock’s suit appear to match David Corenswet’s Superman costume, which is fitting given their connection. The “S” symbol on her suit looks like it could be the same (or very similar) to Superman’s, but I can’t say for certain as the images are not entirely clear.
Gunn’s shared photos of Alcock as Supergirl intentionally don’t depict her in costume, implying that DC Studios might be planning a formal reveal of Kara’s DCU outfit once audiences meet her in “Superman.” It remains to be seen if these set glimpses will prompt the filmmakers to adjust their promotional tactics, potentially to prevent any future leaks. Since the official Supergirl marketing campaign hasn’t started yet, an early release of a costume image might keep fans engaged until more details emerge.
