As a journalist, I find it incredibly inspiring to delve into the lives of remarkable individuals who have overcome adversity and thrived in their respective fields. Bethany Hamilton, a professional surfer, is one such individual whose resilience and determination are truly awe-inspiring.

Bethany Hamilton is testing out the waters on The Masked Singer.

The professional surfer, who tragically lost her 3-year-old nephew named Anthony Hamilton, made her dream come true by appearing on the Fox singing competition series during their November 13 episode of the reality show.

The individual, who had a disguise reminiscent of Macaron, was presented to the crowd by friend and former contestant from Masked Singer season six, Willie Robertson.

Speaking of sudden life transformations, nobody understands that better than Macaron from the show “Duck Dynasty”. He was referring to Bethany who lost her left arm in a shark attack in 2003. She truly is a strong and resilient woman.

Bethany went on to hint at her true identity in her own video.

In a lighter moment during the show, recorded several months before her personal catastrophe, this mother of four quipped that life had been delightful up until an extraordinary incident, rarer than getting struck by lightning. Remarkably, instead of her resilience faltering, she found inner strength, battled hardships, and rebuilt everything from the ground up. So, why not seize any half-baked ambition and give singing on The Masked Singer a shot?

During the game, judges Jenny McCarthy, Robin Thicke, and Ken Jeong tossed out suggestions such as Ariana Madix, Gypsy Rose Blanchard, Monica Lewinsky, but it was only Rita Ora who accurately identified the person as Bethany.

Following Nick revealing the seemingly invincible source of inspiration, Bethany found it tough to join the competition on ‘The Masked Singer’.

As someone who thrives on the exhilaration of catching waves, stepping out of my comfort zone and embracing a new adventure was equally thrilling. And let me tell you, it didn’t disappoint; the experience was nothing short of fantastic!

Bethany went on to share the lessons she’s learned in life about resilience.

She pointed out that being unstoppable, in her view, isn’t about being flawless. As a mother of four, she acknowledged there are days when exhaustion sets in. For her, it means picking oneself up, hopping back on the board, and venturing back into the waves – even when feelings of disheartening or sadness surface. It’s all about knowing that you have the strength to conquer challenges.

Bethany made her first appearance on ‘Masked Singer’ about a month following the announcement of the tragic passing of her 3-year-old nephew, Andrew Hamilton, son of her brother Timothy Hamilton and his wife Kyah Hamilton, who was found unconscious in a partially filled bathtub.

In a heartfelt Instagram post on October 19th, Timothy shared that Andrew Samuel Hamilton, who was born on December 26th, 2020, peacefully passed away on Friday, October 17th, 2024. This followed a week of trying every possible life-saving measure after he unfortunately met with a drowning accident.

Bethany also paid tribute to the little one.

The athlete posted on Instagram that “The Almighty has taken my dear nephew Andrew under His loving protection.” Although we’ll deeply mourn his absence, we believe that he’s experiencing endless happiness with Jesus now.
