Bethany initially sought assistance from medical experts on October 12 via Instagram, accompanying her plea with a photo of Andrew. “PLEASE HELP,” she wrote as the caption. “My beloved nephew was airlifted to Kapiolani Medical Center in Oahu this morning after experiencing drowning last night. He is still showing signs of life and has a fighting spirit.

She went on, sounding distressed. “We’re in a dire situation, but I am certain that timely medical aid could mean life or death for my nephew. We humbly seek assistance from anyone who might have knowledge about what steps we can take to maximize his chances of recovery.

Simultaneously, Noah Hamilton, Bethany’s brother, made an appeal on Facebook, providing additional details about the event.

“Join us in prayer for my brother’s 5th youngest child Andrew as he was life flighted to Oahu in the middle of the night,” he wrote. “He’s 3.5 going on 5. He’s a strong resilient kid and an amazing swimmer. He was found not breathing in shallow water of bath tub. His vitals were enough to get him to oahu.”
