*Warning: Contains spoilers for the final episode of Am I Being Unreasonable? season 2*
In the second series of “Am I Being Unreasonable?”, all episodes are now streaming on BBC iPlayer. Fans should watch out for an unexpected, dreamlike intersection in the finale of this season.
The final scene, where Nic and Jen are seen at a funeral, initially features a scene where Daisy May Cooper’s character pops into a store to purchase alcohol.
While conversing with the ladies behind the counter, two individuals stroll into the store who seem oddly reminiscent of someone she knows.
It subsequently becomes evident that indeed, you weren’t mistaken – those are Kerry and Kurtan from This Country.

In the show Am I Being Unreasonable, Cooper and her brother Charlie portray distinct characters just like they did in This Country. However, it seems that Kerry was acted by a stand-in or body double instead of the original actress.
Behind him, Kurtan can be spotted grabbing a pack of tissues and muttering, “Ah, tissues! I’ve just completely run out of those.
In a stealthy manner, he secretly stashes two containers beneath his coat, meanwhile, from off-camera, Kerry queries, “Kurtan, could I also have some Dunkers?” To which he replies, “Go grab them yourself, Kerry, you’re such a lazy colossus.
In a subsequent scene, they exit the store while concealing merchandise beneath their garments. When the store employees spot them and cry out, “Hey!”, Kerry urges Kurtan to flee quickly by saying, “Go, Kurtan, go!”, following which they both hastily depart.
As I watched them leave, I chuckled and said, “Teenagers, huh?” One woman in the store responded, “The sad part is, they’re actually in their mid-thirties.
It seems clear that both shows, “Am I Being Unreasonable?” and “This Country,” share the same fictional universe. However, since their primary cast members portray distinct characters in each series, a comprehensive crossover involving multiple scenes might not occur immediately.
Nonetheless, Charlie Cooper has shown a willingness to revisit This Country sometime in the future, expressing this sentiment to TopMob magazine last year: “It’s not entirely out of the question. Thoughts about where Kurran stands today frequently pop into my mind.
Given the pandemic, how might they have behaved during Covid times? Has Kurtan turned into a germaphobe because of it? Since I’ve had two children since This Country finished, I often ponder what kind of father he would be. It seems unfair not to explore this idea again.
