Kyle Fraser had to survive a wardrobe malfunction on Survivor.
In response to queries about his constant formal shorts and belt attire during his stay in Fiji, the winner of season 48 explained that this was due to his significant weight loss.
Kyle mentioned in a TikTok video posted on June 4th that he’s received many messages asking about the belt he often wears, specifically why he wears it during challenges. With all the discussions surrounding his belt, Kyle decided to clarify some points. In a straightforward manner, he revealed that he shed 28 pounds while competing in Survivor.
In the show, a team is sent to an isolated, often tropical, destination where they must survive and participate in competitions. However, unlike others, Kyle decided against packing athletic shorts, and soon found that his formal clothes were growing too large on him.
He explained that the belt was the only thing preventing his pants from falling during these difficult situations, as he posted another underwater photo featuring him wearing the belt. “Without it, my shorts might have slipped off while I was trying to return to the surface,” he added, emphasizing the importance of the belt in such scenarios.
Instead, during the 12th episode, despite being in a business casual outfit, Kyle couldn’t help but chuckle at his own expense. He humorously referred to the unstable platform used in the immunity challenge as a “device of torment.”
In episode 12, even though he was dressed in business casual attire, Kyle found amusement in himself and jokingly called the precarious platform in the immunity challenge a “torture apparatus.
He chuckled, commenting that his shirt gave the ensemble a more ludicrous appearance,” he said. “I believe wearing the shirt tucked-in may have been a bit overdone. Given the rain and cold, I put it on to retain body warmth, but in retrospect, it made me appear quite foolish on television.
Indeed, it’s not just Kyle who stumbles during his time on Survivor. In truth, one of the show’s intriguing aspects lies in observing how the ordeal shapes human conduct. As put by Mike White, the creator of White Lotus, this is a key element that draws viewers in.
In a 2021 interview with The New Yorker, Mike, who initially appeared in season 37, emphatically stated that his loyalty to the series was genuine. “My profession,” he explained, “involves studying individuals and understanding their motivations and characters. Even on what seems like the most fabricated reality show, I still find people fascinating and more intriguing than some of the most carefully crafted scripts.
Mike, who enjoys watching closely, is on the brink of being watched himself, as he prepares to rejoin the cast for Survivor’s season 50. Continue reading to learn about his fellow competitors…
