As someone who’s been through the N64, GameCube, Wii, and Switch era, I have to say, this Switch 2 motherboard leak has me more excited than ever! The thought of playing games in 4K on-the-go is mind-blowing! Although I know it’s not going to be native handheld 4K, I’m willing to overlook that tiny detail.
Remember when we used to play Super Mario 64 with those chunky polygons? Now imagine that running in 4K, my friends! The possibilities are endless, and I can’t wait to see what Nintendo has up its sleeve.
But let’s not forget about the storage crisis that plagues us gamers today. If Nintendo manages to squeeze all those 4K textures into a cartridge without making it the size of my head, I’ll be one happy camper!
And if they do make an optional setting for native or upscaling resolution, well, I might just have to write a letter to Shigeru Miyamoto and ask him to adopt me. Or maybe become Nintendo’s legal counsel—I mean, who wouldn’t want that job?
Now, let’s hope these leaks don’t get any more “juicy” and end up in the wrong hands. I’d hate for someone else to find out how many lives I have left in Mario Kart before the big reveal!
New Year, new Switch 2 motherboard leaks to get over January with!
Nintendo’s upcoming sequel to the Nintendo Switch has allegedly been leaked again.
But are these in line with the last ones, and what does the motherboard tell us?
Switch 2 Motherboard Leaks
It seems as though it wasn’t that long past when I was dealing with rumors about a potential Nintendo console, complete with magnetic Joy-Cons and an overall system design. However, recent developments might surpass those earlier leaks, as images of the Switch 2’s motherboard have allegedly surfaced.

As a long-time gamer and tech enthusiast with over two decades of experience under my belt, I must say that this latest leak from X about the upcoming Switch 2 is nothing short of intriguing. The fact that we get to see some close-up images of the device without its shell is quite rare and exciting, especially for someone like me who has been following the development of gaming consoles closely.
The image that caught my attention the most was the clear view of the Nvidia chip, which seemed to be pointing right at us. It’s not every day that you get a peek under the hood of a yet-to-be-released console, and I must admit that it stirred up a sense of anticipation in me for what the Switch 2 might bring to the table.
Additionally, the sight of the two RAM modules clearly visible in the images is another piece of information that piqued my interest. The fact that the Switch 2 appears to have 12GB of RAM suggests that it could offer a significant performance boost over its predecessor, which would be a welcome addition for gamers like myself who demand smooth and seamless gameplay.
All in all, this latest leak has only served to increase my excitement for the upcoming Switch 2. I can’t wait to see what other secrets it holds and how it will stack up against its competitors in the ever-evolving world of gaming consoles.
While it might not seem like a significant increase, it surpasses the capabilities of the current Xbox model! Additionally, the rumored chip on the Switch 2’s motherboard is said to be the Nvidia 4kDLSS upscaler. This suggests that the device could potentially handle games rendered in 4K resolution through upscaling technology.
Though I may not be the most accomplished when it comes to upgrading, it’s generally a significant leap forward compared to the original Switch’s specifications. The RAM, for instance, is nearly four times larger, which is quite impressive. Moreover, the Samsung 5nm manufacturing process has piqued my curiosity.
Compared to the first Switch, the upgraded version is a major advancement. It has almost four times more RAM, and the fact that it’s made using Samsung’s 5nm technology makes me wonder about its capabilities.
As a passionate fan, I must admit that we all anticipated this wasn’t going to be a native 4K handheld device. Desktops, even high-end consoles, struggle with this! So, it doesn’t come as a shock to learn and see this detail in the Switch 2’s motherboard specifications.
As a gamer, I can’t help but notice that Nintendo might intentionally design their games with smaller storage capacities to dodge the storage predicament many of us are currently facing.
In other words, apart from the Switch 2’s motherboard, case, and controllers, there seems to be little else left to reveal!
What am I going to do then? Play it; that is crazy talk.
1080 To 4K Cartridge
In reality, despite our wishes, we’re not yet able to physically play games in 4K resolution. You may have a 4K screen and perhaps even the ability to stream 4K content. However, when it comes to playing games, that’s still beyond our reach, my friend!
Modern video games tend to lack optimal performance and the current compression tech for 4K resolution doesn’t go far enough, which is why we often find games like Wukong – despite being single-player – taking up a whopping 130 GB on our devices.
In a strategic move that seems to go beyond traditional game development, Nintendo might be playing a multi-dimensional game of strategy with their upcoming Switch 2. The design of the motherboard hints towards a potential native resolution of 1080 pixels. However, with the aid of advanced AI upscaling technology, they can offload the heavy processing work, effectively allowing for 4K graphics without the need for native support.
Indeed, there are concerns regarding its aesthetics and responsiveness. However, I don’t engage with Nintendo games for high-definition graphics! In addition, this setup supports 1080p resolution to avoid excessive 4K data load since it employs HD textures that are upscaled.
Hey there, Nintendo! As a long-time gamer and loyal fan, I’ve been with you through thick and thin. I’ve got to say, the Switch has been a game changer for me. But if you really want to take things to the next level, hear me out.
I’ve seen the future, Nintendo, and it involves the Switch 2. Now, I know I’ve been bragging about that motherboard of mine, but can we make a deal? Let’s give gamers the option to switch between native and upscaling modes on the new console, and I swear I’ll do whatever it takes to track down those pesky leakers for you!
I’d even go as far as to sell my soul (well, maybe not that far) and become your personal lawyer if it means getting this feature added. So come on, Nintendo, let’s make gaming history together!
