Raise your hands if you ever played Psychic Force on PlayStation 1? The game by Taito wasn’t exactly great, but it had a fantastic ’90s anime style that likely drew you in despite its shortcomings.
Experienced game designer Hiroshi Aoki, known for his work in games such as Dariusburst and Rune Factory, has returned to the scene with a fresh third-person shooter, which will be published by Compile Heart.
On January 30th, a comprehensive unveiling is scheduled, and as soon as that happens, we’ll provide an update. For the moment, we can confirm that the game is titled “Scar-Lead Salvation” and it will be released on both PS5 and PS4 platforms.
Indeed, it seems strikingly similar to Returnal. As reported by Gematsu, the game features randomly generated dungeons, and upon death, you’ll forfeit your weapons and progress. Interestingly, a peculiar number displayed on your character’s visage will grow with each attempt, suggesting that it could play a significant role in the storyline.
If it matches the speed and smoothness of Housemarque’s hit game, then it might be a title to watch closely. Set to release on 29th May in Japan, there’s a strong likelihood that it will receive global distribution as well.
