Tales of the Shire: A The Lord of the Rings Game Delayed Again, This Time to July 29th

Initially scheduled to release on March 25th this year, but facing yet another postponement, Weta Workshop’s “Tales of the Shires: A The Lord of the Rings Game” is now set to launch on July 29th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch.

In a Twitter post, the developer shared that they’re taking a bit more time to guarantee that all Hobbit players, regardless of platform, can have the same comfortable gaming experience. They aim for the game to feel like a comforting embrace from Middle-earth, ensuring that no matter where you play, you’ll feel as if you’re truly in The Shire. From the most realistic hobbit foot hairstyles to the most delightful baked goods, every aspect will be meticulously crafted for authenticity.

In September 2023, it was announced that the game titled Tales of the Shire is a life simulation set within Bywater, a region belonging to Middle-earth’s Shire. Players have the chance to design their own Hobbit character and participate in various activities such as home decoration, cooking, fishing, gardening, and farming.

Additionally, you can engage in trading activities with various villagers and host social gatherings to nurture friendships. In the spirit of The Lord of the Rings, there are also secret artifacts to uncover and mysterious groves to explore. For a comprehensive gameplay overview, click here.
