Tales of the Shire: A The Lord of the Rings Game Delayed to Early 2025

As a die-hard fan of both The Lord of the Rings saga and farming simulation games like Stardew Valley and Harvest Moon, I must admit my heart skipped a beat upon hearing the news about Tales from the Shire: A The Lord of the Rings Game delay. However, as someone who’s spent countless hours cultivating virtual fields and tending to digital livestock, I understand that sometimes patience is required to create a truly immersive experience.

Weta Workshop has disclosed that the release of Tales of the Shire: A The Lord of the Rings Game has been postponed. Unlike its initial plan to launch this year on Xbox Series X/S, PC, PS5, and Nintendo Switch, the game is now expected to debut in early 2025 instead.

The developer recently said on Twitter, “All of us here at Weta Workshop are excited to have you join us in the Shire, a peaceful corner of J.R.R. Tolkien’s world. When a new Hobbit steps into Bywater for the first time, we want that moment to be everything you’re hoping for.”

To realize our vision, the team needs a bit more time. Luckily, we won’t keep fans waiting much longer as a new release date has been announced! On September 22nd at 10:30 AM Pacific Time, a special event called “A Hobbit Day Showcase” will take place. During this event, Weta Workshop is expected to share fresh details about the title, including its new launch date.

In the gameplay structure of “Tales from the Shire: A The Lord of the Rings Game,” you’ll notice similarities to fans of “Stardew Valley” or “Harvest Moon.” Here, players assume the role of Hobbits in Bywater, where they can modify their character’s appearance and adorn their homes with a variety of items.

Individuals have the ability to catch fish, cultivate farms, prepare meals, organize gatherings, extend invitations, engage in trading, and acquire new talents. Adventures within stories and everyday tasks are also provided, featuring familiar faces. Keep an eye out for fresh information coming up next week.

An important update for all Hobbits.
