Tammy Slaton Claps Back at “Everyone Freaking Out” About Her Vaping

Tammy Slaton is not falling back into old habits.

Following the circulation of a video on TikTok that appeared to depict me vaping post my recent skin removal surgery, I felt it was important to address any misconceptions about my health journey. At 38, I am committed to maintaining my wellbeing and continuing on this transformative path.

Tammy posted on her Instagram Stories on June 10th, saying people are unnecessarily concerned about her vaping because it’s nicotine-free. She hasn’t used nicotine for a whole year.”

Or:

“Tammy shared on her Instagram Stories that people are panicking over her vaping, but they should know it doesn’t contain nicotine, and she hasn’t had any nicotine for an entire year.

She commented, ‘Everyone seems to have an opinion on everything, yet rarely about themselves.’ She found it hard to believe.

Tammy’s remarks followed closely on the heels of an episode on June 10, where viewers got to see the results of her much-anticipated skin removal procedure, which was featured on her and sister Amy Slaton’s TLC show. Earlier, when she was arranging for this surgery with Dr. J. Peter Rubin last year, her vaping habit had caused a minor complication.

During the season finale in December, she confessed a detail she hadn’t shared with her physicians that might impact the possibility of undergoing skin removal surgery. She revealed that she uses vaping primarily as a means to manage her anxiety. It serves to soothe her when she’s feeling stressed.

Moreover, it’s worth mentioning that she often vapes multiple times daily, and she also depends on nicotine during the night to aid in returning to sleep. However, her physician cautioned her that this vaping habit could potentially elevate the risk of complications with wound healing.

Dr. Rubin advised, “First, it’s crucial for you to quit vaping entirely.” He continued, “Second, nutrition plays a significant role. We need to boost those levels which will take at least two months. Therefore, we cannot schedule the surgery until we sort out all these aspects.

Moreover, during the doctors’ appointment, which they attended together with Amy’s other sibling, Misty Slaton, Amy understood that Tammy finding it tough to break her harmful habit was a certainty.

Amy expressed that her middle sister might find it extremely challenging to give up vaping since she seems to have replaced one addiction with another, switching from a reliance on food to vaping. At this stage, it appears that vaping has become her comfort or safety measure.

Now, after conquering her vaping addiction and shedding approximately 500 pounds, Tammy recognizes an entirely changed reflection as a result of her life-altering surgery.

She expressed astonishment, almost like it was strange to her, during a June 10 episode of the TLC show. She then humorously commented about the skin removed from her chin, saying, ‘I’m no longer sporting a sagging scrotum under my face. My wings have been clipped too. And when I look down now, there’s just my lap visible.’
