Tammy Slaton’s Sister Amanda Shares Support Amid Weight Loss Journey

Tammy Slaton’s family has her back.

In the course of the reality show “1000-Lb. Sisters“, its star is chronicling her weight loss process, and during this time, she’s been motivated by her sister, Amanda Halterman. Amanda has posted photos from their touching video conversations that took place while Tammy was undergoing treatment for weight loss.

Reminiscing about the FaceTime calls from rehab, Amanda posted on Instagram January 9th. ‘We are incredibly proud of you, sister,'”

or more informally,

“Looking back at our rehab FaceTime chats, Amanda shared a post on Jan. 9. ‘So proud of you, sis!’

Later, Amanda extended encouraging remarks to Tammy, who shares the screen with their sibling, Amy Slaton, on the TLC show, as a means of bolstering her during her endeavor to enhance her well-being.

“Keep pushing forward to accomplish your goals,” she continued. “You got this and we got you!”

As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but express my admiration for Tammy, 38, who’s been spreading sunshine and optimism lately. Amidst the struggles of us fans, she’s been an inspiring beacon, encouraging us from her corner to keep pushing forward.

In a September 2024 Instagram video, the reality star expressed, “Regardless of whether you’ve shed 500 lbs., as I have, or if you’re close to reaching your weight-loss goal, remember this: You are protected in this space. Whether you struggle with depression or feel unmotivated for tomorrow, please understand that you are secure here.

However, just because Tammy’s journey hasn’t been easy doesn’t mean it’s been a rough sea voyage all the way. In the finale of 1000-Lb. Sisters back in December, she discovered that she had to quit vaping before she could undergo skin removal surgery for her extra skin. This is because nicotine products can heighten the risk of complications during the healing process of her wounds.

Amy mentioned during the show that quitting vaping would be tough for her as she swapped one addiction for another,” Amy said. “She traded her dependence on food for vaping, and it seems like it’s become a comfort for her now.

Dr. J. Peter Rubin, Tammy’s surgeon, strongly advised her to concentrate on quitting her e-cigarette use and enhancing her dietary habits so that she could undergo a safe surgical procedure.

“We got to get those numbers up,” he said. “That’s going to take about two months minimum.”
