The developers behind “Hi-Fi Rush” and “The Evil Within,” formerly known as Tango Gameworks, have officially changed their name to Tango Gameworks Inc. following their acquisition by Krafton. In a recent tweet, they expressed enthusiasm about continuing to create games that bring joy to players worldwide.
Despite receiving widespread praise for the release of Hi-Fi Rush in 2023 and Microsoft’s Aaron Greenberg expressing great satisfaction with its launch, Tango, along with Arkane Austin and Alpha Dog Games, was closed down by Microsoft in 2024. Later, Krafton acquired Tango together with the Hi-Fi Rush intellectual property, promoting the sequel as offering a more expansive “open world” gaming experience.
As a gamer, I’m excited to share that while it might not be a completely open-world game, Maria Park, Krafton’s head of corporate development, has hinted at more interactive and dynamic environments for us to traverse. Unfortunately, they haven’t given a specific release date yet. Before joining forces with Krafton, Tango was working on a six-month-old build, but Krafton wants to take their time to ensure the sequel exceeds our expectations in terms of quality. Park mentioned that they are determined to deliver a game that surpasses what we, the community, anticipate.
Hi-Fi Rush is available for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. Check out our review of the PS5 version.
