Tanner Tolbert Thinks It’s Odd to Add ‘Golden Bachelor’ Contestants to ‘BiP’

As a devoted fan, I find myself pondering over the reasoning behind the decision to introduce the Golden Bachelor contestants into the Bachelor in Paradise setting. It seems intriguing, indeed!

On Kaitlyn Bristowe’s “Off the Vine” podcast episode from June 24th, Tolbert, aged 38, expressed that it feels unusual to him. He mentioned that they used to enjoy watching the Golden Bachelor content, but it seems like they’re forcing it upon us too frequently now.

During season 2 of ‘BiP’, Tolbert happened to meet his wife, Jade Roper. He also mentioned that it seems like each Bachelor franchise features a standout contestant often referred to as the ‘Shining Star’ or ‘Golden Bachelor’.

He clarified, “It’s okay standing alone, but I’m not certain if we should combine them. In other words, will they share a home? Or will there be two distinct communities?

Bristowe, 40, chimed in, asking Tolbert if they’re going to use the same “boom boom room.”

“I don’t know if I would feel as comfortable hanging out with grandpa next door,” he replied.

Tolbert emphasized that he doesn’t wish for the participants of the ‘Golden Bachelor’ show to compromise their innocence during their time in Paradise, yet he also doesn’t intend for them to constantly feel pressured to behave kindly and respectfully throughout their stay.

“We want both of those camps to stay separate,” he shared. “I’m a little worried about it.”

This month, it was revealed that Leslie Fhima from The Golden Bachelor and Gary Levingston from The Golden Bachelorette will be part of BiP’s tenth season. Other cast members for the upcoming season include Jess and Lexi from Joey Graziadei’s season, Alexe, Bailey, and Zoe from Grant Ellis’ season, Brian, Hakeem, Ricky, Jeremy, Spencer, Sam M., and Jonathan from Jenn Tran’s season, Dale Moss (a previous Bachelorette winner), Justin Glaze, Kyle Howard, and Kat Izzo.

As an ardent follower, I’m intrigued by the uncertainty surrounding whether the Golden members will exclusively date among themselves or form connections with a younger cast member. However, bartender Wells Adams previously shared his thoughts with Us Weekly, encouraging us to keep an open mind about age-gap relationships.

In everyday situations, you can observe similar scenarios, such as Bill Belichick currently experiencing. As Adams, 41, articulated in June, “This is common occurrence in the real world.” He added, “I’m not sure if it will happen, but I believe it would be fascinating to have The Goldens with us. What I admire about The Golden Bachelor is their vast life experiences. Their advice, conversations, and the significance of their decisions are significantly greater. I think this could provide valuable insights for these young individuals.

Some actors express enthusiasm about the unexpected development, while others view the Golden members, including Moss at 36, as more of a source of guidance rather than just fellow cast members.

Back in June, I openly admitted to having dated women who are older than me. Age or the gap doesn’t cross my mind when considering someone. To me, these relationships are not about romance but rather, guidance and friendship. Let me make this crystal clear: there’s no disrespect intended!
