As a woman who’s been navigating my own menopausal journey for quite some time now, I can’t help but feel a deep sense of camaraderie and excitement towards “The Change.” This brilliant show not only sheds light on a topic that is often overlooked or misunderstood, but it also does so in a way that’s funny, poignant, and incredibly relatable.
In the upcoming season, Susan Lynch (Eel Sister Agnes), Tanya Moodie (DJ Joy), Liza Tarbuck (Siobhan), Jim Howick (The Verderer), Jerome Flynn (Pig Man), Paul Whitehouse (Tony), and Omid Djalili (Steve) will reprise their roles. Additionally, Laura Checkley (King Gary, Detectorists) is set to join the cast as Eel Sister Theresa.
In Season 2, Linda (Bridget Christie) will deal with the consequences of her dishonest actions towards the forest dwellers, also grappling with the loss of the Mother Tree. To add more complications, her husband Steve appears, intent on taking her home, which leaves Linda’s fate in the forest hanging in the balance.
In 2023, the comedy-drama made its premiere on Channel 4, focusing on Linda’s story. She felt like she was going through an existential crisis and believed she had early-onset dementia. However, a visit to her doctor revealed that she was actually experiencing menopause symptoms instead.
In contemplation, she climbed aboard her vintage Triumph motorcycle, embarking on a long voyage across the country in pursuit of self-discovery and meaning.
Although we don’t have a specific launch date for The Change season 2 just yet, there’s lots to look forward to in the upcoming year!
