Ted Lasso Season 4 Officially Announced (And Its Biggest Star Is Actually Coming Back)

The wise football coach from Kansas once noted that experiences in life guide us towards better destinations. He led us to an improved place, and now he’s planning to lead us even further along our journey. Indeed, the renowned coach Ted Lasso will be returning to our television screens soon.

After more than two years of whispers and anticipation about the return of the popular Emmy-winning show Ted Lasso, Apple TV+ has confirmed that production is indeed happening. The announcement came on a Friday morning, revealing that instead of the speculated spin-off or follow-up series, Season 4 of the original show will be produced as planned.

Apart from the fact that season 4 of the popular show “Ted Lasso” is returning, it’s also worth mentioning that its creator and lead actor, Jason Sudeikis, will be back in his role as Ted. Alongside announcements about the new season, Apple disclosed that Sudeikis will reprise his Emmy-winning character of Ted Lasso once again.

In the world we inhabit, with numerous influences encouraging us to ‘think before acting’, Sudeikis noted in a statement. However, in season four, the team at AFC Richmond decides to act first and think later, finding out that no matter their landing spot, it’s the place they were destined to be.

Matt Cherniss, Apple TV+’s head of programming, stated that “Ted Lasso” has been an unstoppable force, generating a devoted fanbase worldwide, while providing endless amusement and merriment. It also embodies kindness, empathy, and unwavering faith, he added. Everyone at Apple is overjoyed to carry on our partnership with Jason Sudeikis and the talented creative team behind this exceptional series.

From Apple TV’s official statement, we know that Jason Sudeikis is coming back as Ted, but uncertainty surrounds the rest of the cast at this point. Previously, reports suggested that Brett Goldstein, Hannah Waddingham, and Jeremy Swift were given the option for Season 4 by Warner Bros. Television, and it’s expected that they will reprise their roles. Nick Mohammed has hinted at a return as well, though he hasn’t confirmed it yet due to scheduling conflicts with his live performances.

The main curiosity at this point is where the series will resume when Season 4 starts, considering Ted left London for Kansas to spend time with his son, Nathan, in the finale of Season 3. It’s intriguing to speculate about the way the storyline will handle his homecoming and his distance from Richmond AFC.
