Teddi Mellencamp Addresses Criticism of Dating Life Amid Cancer Battle

Teddi Mellencamp is defending her love life.

More recently, a former cast member from “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” spoke out about the backlash she’s faced for dating while fighting stage 4 cancer.

43-year-old Teddi shared on the June 11 episode of her podcast with Tamra Judge, “Two T’s in a Pod”, that people have been questioning her about fostering a dog and dating. She mentioned, “They wonder, ‘With all she has going on, her children and survival, how could she possibly be dating?’

In keeping with their strong bond, Tamra spoke up and advised critics to “back off,” since they are not privy to the details of Teddi’s private circumstances.

The 54-year-old clarified, “Every single day brings health concerns and a focus on recovery, making every effort possible while also cherishing time with my children.” Essentially, she stated that life goes on despite cancer, and for those considering dating, it’s important to remember that.

As Teddi, a loving mother of Slate (12), Cruz (10), and Dove (5), formerly partnered with Edwin Arroyave, I concur, acknowledging that engaging with new individuals serves as an effective means of keeping me occupied and shielding my thoughts from venturing into troubled territories.

Additionally, others around her are urging her on, suggesting that she should learn to tune out the unwanted remarks.

In our discussion, my doctor mentioned that since she now follows me on Instagram, she’s noticed the comments people make. She reminded me, “I don’t want you to assume your cancer is incurable just because it was for someone else’s friend, relative, or acquaintance. Instead, try to enjoy life and laugh more.

Indeed, it’s been openly acknowledged by the founder of All In that she has found love in the past few months. She has recently confirmed her new romantic relationship.

Regardless of the criticism, Teddi remains optimistic about the future as she persists with her cancer treatment. In the previous episode, she disclosed that her tumors, which initially appeared in her brain and later spread to her lungs, have shown no increase in size, and she falls within the “one percent” group showing improvement.

She went on to say, ‘I’m improving, actually. I feel better thanks to my consistent workout routine, which is five days a week. Taking care of our new puppy has been wonderful, adding a fresh joy to my children’s lives.’
