Wedding bells are ringing for Kailyn Lowry.
Previously on “Teen Mom 2”, the ex-cast member publicly announced her engagement to Elijah Scott, following over two years of a romantic relationship.
It wasn’t until my beloved co-host, Lindsie Chrisley, casually brought up the sparkler on my ring finger during our Coffee Convos podcast on August 22nd that the cat was out of the bag – “Hold up, are you hitched now?”, she asked. Little did I know that I’d soon be able to share the wonderful news with all of you!
Kailyn chuckled at the query, clarifying that she wasn’t yet a bride by saying, “This is the ring that you receive prior to getting married.”
As a devoted admirer, I found myself in an unexpected situation when the 32-year-old playfully hinted she wasn’t ready to disclose the news just then. However, it seems Lindsie unintentionally caught me off guard. Yet, I am confident that my partner will be overjoyed when he learns about our relationship update at last.
Kailyn, the mother of 21-month old son Rio and 8-month-old twins Valley and Verse with Elijah, didn’t intend to keep her wedding plans a secret forever.
She said, “I wasn’t able to share the news, because he didn’t specify a particular time when he proposed.”
According to the podcaster, Elijah was constantly asking her, “When are we gonna get married?”
She replied, “I might say, ‘Let’s just take things as they come.’ I’ll inform you if there’s ever a time when I propose, and then we’ll discuss it again.”
And much to her surprise, one day Elijah “showed up with a ring.”
She remembered that he entered the bathroom as I was preparing myself, and then he handed me the ring. I exclaimed, “Oh my goodness, thank you!”
What Kailyn desired was precisely that informality in the proposal; even though she playfully mentioned she would have been content if he had simply placed the ring on a table and left without fanfare, making it less of a grand event.
She mentioned that we’re both previously married, so we’re not focused on the traditional romantic gestures like kneeling to propose, as that’s not our style.
Kailyn, the mother of 10-year-old son Lincoln shared with her ex-husband Javi Marroquin, recognizes that she and Elijah match well personality-wise. She points out that he tends to be quiet, while Kailyn is more outgoing.
The MTV celebrity has mentioned earlier that Elijah has been an incredibly reliable source of support for her, especially during challenging times in her life, while managing her family which consists of son Isaac (14 years old), shared with former partner Jo Rivera, and sons Lux (7) and Creed (4), who are from her relationship with Chris Lopez.
On a February episode of her podcast, Barely Famous, she explained to Elijah that he had never given her the impression that he resented her due to her commitments with her other children.

Kailyn Lowry had her first child, Isaac Elliot Rivera, with her high school sweetheart Jo Rivera when she was only 17 years old, and this happened on January 18, 2010.
Despite parting ways a year later, the former couple have established a harmonious co-parenting relationship. Interestingly, Kailyn now hosts her “Baby Mamas No Drama” podcast alongside Jo’s spouse, Vee Torres. Reflecting on their journey, Kailyn penned on social media after attending Jo and Vee’s 2018 wedding, “We’ve come a long way since we were 18. I couldn’t ask for a better stepmother for Isaac.”
Reflecting on my oldest son’s 13th birthday, I penned an Instagram tribute, expressing that while we’ve shared the journey of growing up together, there are aspects where he seems more mature than me. Being a dedicated fan of Olivia Rodrigo, a musician and basketball player, I affectionately described him as thoughtful, brilliant, witty, and at times, mischievous. In praise of his compassionate nature, I lauded him as a Delaware State graduate.
“I think what really inspires me about him is the way he challenges social norms,” she wrote. “Because he is curious and open-minded, he can form his own thoughts and opinions. Isaac also accepts people for who they are and never how they’re ‘supposed’ to be. More people should be like him.”
Lincoln Marshall officially became part of the team on November 16, 2013, approximately one year following the marriage of Javi Marroquin, who was then a prominent figure on Teen Mom 2, to his father.
“Kailyn mentioned on her podcast in 2022 that the tween is quite passionate about sports. In fact, a large part of his time is dedicated to attending basketball and football matches. To celebrate his 10th birthday, he organized an NBA-themed party, showing his admiration for Allen Iverson, his idol.”
As a devoted follower, it comes as no surprise that when it came time to name his youngest brother, Lincoln suggested the moniker “Verse, derived from Iverson.” Indeed, given my passion for basketball, it was only natural that this name would be on his list. Kailyn shared this tidbit in a TikTok video posted in February 2024.
In a heartfelt 2022 birthday message, it was expressed that knowing Lincoln is equivalent to loving him. He is described as diligent, intelligent, good-looking, and simply the finest brother one could ask for.
Lux Russell Lowry has a fondness for football, wrestling, solving Rubik’s Cubes, and the music of Michael Jackson – these are just some of his cherished interests.
Kailyn had her first child, Lux, with former partner Chris Lopez on August 5, 2017. Despite their relationship experiencing ups and downs for several years, she shared with TopMob News in 2020 that they no longer communicate at all currently. She expressed hope that things might improve over time, but admits she doesn’t have high expectations. She wants only the best for their children, hoping that they can find a resolution, whatever form it may take.
Regardless of the direction Lux takes, he’s moving swiftly towards his destination, and that’s a fact we’ve come to know since his arrival in the world. This was expressed by Kailyn as she celebrated his sixth birthday with a WWE-themed party. “Lux, my little lion cub, has been speeding through life at an incredible pace, keeping us entertained every day! I adore him immensely!”
Before Creed Romello Lowry-Lopez was born on July 30, 2020, Kailyn revealed she grappled with a significant choice. “I concealed the pregnancy for such a long time because I wasn’t sure what I would do—whether to keep the baby or not,” she shared with TopMob News shortly after his birth. “That was a tremendous burden for me and I truly struggled during that period.”
Though her relationship with Creed’s dad Chris was notably rocky, one glance at his ultrasound sealed her decision. Much like his older siblings—”All three of them have asked to hold the baby and they’re super loving on him,” Kailyn told TopMob—the podcaster was smitten from day one.
She expressed, “CREED, Romello, Mello, Romey, Rome, or Biggie, Bigs,” on his third birthday during their shared WWE celebration with Lux. There’s no way to fully capture my love for this energetic kid in words, so I’ll reserve the sentiment for real-life interactions!
Kailyn made it clear to People magazine that she preferred to share the news about her fifth child, Rio, who was born in November 2022, at a time and in a way that suited her personal narrative.
Despite a challenging start to life, as he needed care in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit due to respiratory problems and lung fluid, he has proven to be an absolute delight. In other words, he has turned out to be a wonderful baby.
The first-time father, Elijah Scott, certainly deserves recognition too. As his girlfriend put it, “It’s quite unlike my past relationships and the other fathers of our children.” She continued, “He works with concrete, often gets messy at work. Yet, he’s deeply rooted as a family man. He has strong bonds with his family, ours as well, making him an exceptional partner for me. I believe our pairing is quite harmonious.”
It seems that her initial months with Rio made her feel even more enthusiastic to continue the celebration, as she found being a mother of four challenging compared to five, but she attributes this difference to her fourth child being particularly lively. Her fifth child, however, is exceptional and she considers him the best baby in the world; if all her children were like him, she would have welcomed 10 more.

In the late October of 2023, Kailyn officially stepped into her motherhood phase for a second and third time, welcoming her kids, Verse and Valley, who were born to her and her partner, Elijah.
Kailyn’s hometown, known as the Lehigh Valley, had a more extended stay in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) compared to her brother due to some challenges with feeding.
Kailyn shared during the January 2024 episode of Barely Famous that she had never encountered a baby who didn’t wake up for meals or show signs of hunger. Instead, this particular infant would sleep through feeding times and exhibited no feeding cues at all. Whenever Kailyn tried to feed her, the baby refused the bottle.
Despite Kailyn still being concerned about the twins’ relationship following their prolonged time apart (as she tries to “re-attract” them towards their previous closeness), she’s overjoyed that her family has now been reunited.
She remarked, “I am filled with gratitude, appreciation, contentment, joy, and a sense of wholeness.” This realization has led us to expand our home. Indeed, we feel incredibly fortunate. The babies in our care are wonderful.
